This is an incredible story about an incredible dog during WW II. On the day of his burial, 800 people attended his funeral.

Nice story Ichhabe, reminds me of "Wojtek", the Iranian bear mascot of 2/22nd Artillery Supply Company from Monte Cassino.

i can see the resemblence between a st. bernard and a bear(Bamse means bear in norwegian) those things are huge

Reminds me of a monument my grandfather had put up in Bergen to honour the fallen Norwegian sailors who went down during WW2

This is a pretty incredible story. Cool to hear it's getting a Statue. i guess.

There's nothing that makes me tear up than hearing about vets and dogs dying. This has both, so I'm getting a little choked up at work now. Goddamnit.
