There is an ongoing tension between police and militants in Gaza
At least one person has been killed and 17 others injured in a gun battle between Palestinian police and Hamas militants in Gaza City.
Witnesses and paramedics said the trouble began after the police ordered a car with two men to stop.

The men opened fire and threw grenades at the security agents, triggering the shooting exchange, the witnesses said.

The Palestinian authorities condemned what they called a senseless attack by the militants.


Both the authorities and militant groups appear to be trying to exert their influence in the run up to the expected Israeli withdrawal from the territory, the BBC's David Chazan in Gaza says.

The militants see the pullout plan as a victory for the Palestinian uprising, or intifada, but the Israelis are determined to take tough action against the militants before they leave, our correspondent adds.

The incident came only hours after Israeli air strikes on the territory in which four Palestinians were killed and several others injured.

The clashes broke out near the Palestinian military intelligence service's headquarters in Gaza City after the car with the militants had been requested to stop for an identity check, Palestinian officials said.

"The passengers threw three grenades at the patrol, killing one bystander," a Palestinian official told the AFP news agency.

During the exchange of fire, 17 people were injured, most of them Palestinian policemen, sources at a local hospital said.

Many of those injured were reportedly members of security forces under the leadership of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's cousin, Moussa Arafat.

The Palestinian official said the preliminary findings showed the gunmen were members of the Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

The police sealed off the area as they conducted a search for the militants.

I wrote you the post before for two purposes.

One was to dispute your claim that he didn’t do it intentional whereas I felt that he did…. again cant prove it conclusively but I have seen this tactic used countless times by those that obviously have negative views on Israel/Jews etc…


And secondly to ask for a little objectivity for once in where some of us (ok I don’t speak for anyone but I have seen others point this out as well) have noticed a little lack of even handiness when it comes from comments from the extreme left, which in my opinion holds the same (racial) view (though replace Muslims with the words Jews) and same tone from those on the extreme right, the only difference is that the left one is a bit smoother and more clocked in word play where the right one is more straight forward…but in essence they are the same!!

As for this phrase being common in other countries ,yes it is, as is Anti Semitism unfortunately common in a lot of countries…. sad indeed

Lastly understand that I am not calling for his banning per say and things like that nor have I ever called for anyone’s banning, all I ask is for some even handiness and as such this forum can get a decent level of fairness which I feel is lacking so far.

There are lots of racial words that are used in academia and that’s great for there, though when there is a discussion and when a individual has a sig such as his (with a obvious misrepresentation of who are those actual kids there) and things that he has said in the past, no one needs to be Einstein to figure out how it was meant to be used.

This was later broadcast and repeated some 50 times just during the first 24hours in one(1) of the news-channels we have here.
