haha, no that guy that looks like he is getting shelled in front of that 12.7 mounted GAZ jeep is not using an assault rilfe. that is very clearly an RPG launcher.
Wanna know what it looks like to me? It looks like the fool tried to fire it up in the air and the back blast of the rocket took him down. Everyone knows you dont fire one of those.
It looks like an attempted posed shot for PR purposes and the guy behind the truck probably tried to show off for the photographer by shooting an RPG in the air like he was blowing up an Iraqi Helocopter or something but instead the backblast is gonna take his legs off hehehehehehehe
Well, thats possible at least. He could also very well have dropped a grenade on himself or he also could be getting shelled as mentioned hehe....

One photo, shows Iranian soldiers with US-made M-47 Dragon, anti-tank missles. I did not know that had gotten any of these!? I wonder how well they worked?
Comments on addtional photos,
1. The two Iranian Paratroopers have East German MpikMS-72 (AKMS) rifles.
2. And the two teens (they look real young!) kneeling behind the berm, one is holding a Romanian PSL rifle. (Not an SVD!) I see Romania made, some shipments to the region!
3. In some of the images, you can the difference between the USSR T-55 and PRC Type-69 tanks.
4. Sharp images with the (UH-1N) Hueys slingloading equipment. Plus the CH-47 Chinook.
5. Very detailed urban warfare pics too. I am sure this was quite a brutal battleground!

Yes, only foreign Air Force to use it. 79 F-14A Tomcats were delivered to Iran before the Islamic Revolution in 1979...
According to an article about Iranian F-14s that i have read recently, Iranian Tomcats performed very well during the Iran-Iraq war with about 130 Iraqi aircrafts shootdown in 8 years...

I met an Iranian back in 95 who fought in this war, and he told me they (iranians) used teams of motorcycle riders, because of their high mobility, to deal with iraqui tanks. I always thougth it was a rather bizarre story, but acording to this picture it must have been true.
Great pics, thanks!

There was no victors in this war...... not even the weapons manufacurers benefited from this war, as because still much of the weapons used and destroyed remaind unpaid for.........
Just losers in this one.
Not to mention the USA one of the masterminds of the whole carnage.... "who" is now bogged down in Iraq.........
Gulf war (Iran - Iraq) -> "Invasion" and "liberation" of Kuwait -> Gulf 2 (OIF)

will u give it a rest with this whole USA evil empire thing, u r like a broken f*ckin record. We all know your stance on the US so it's not necessary to repeat and repeat your whole political stance ad nauseum. If you don't have pictures or some worthwhile commentary stop hijacking threads, please.

ronin2172,
Are you lame? I just stated that USA tryed its best to benefit from Iran - Iraq war (as did many others......), Iran - Iraq war that was one of the prime reasons for Iraqs invasion of Kuwait, which in turn made this latest war possible / "nessacery".
And i did this without stating any "oppinions" or "my feelings" about it..... just facts.

no u r lame, all u ever post is anti US rhetoric, the question was who won the war not who 'masterminded' the war, u decided to take it one step further and add the evil us empire bit as usual. Next u'll be saying every conflict post ww2 is due to US 'masterminding'.
The last time i checked Saddam (who wanted to be the next Nassar) invaded Iran on his own accord. All the other Arab states feared the fundamentalists led by the ayatollah. So Saddam took it upon himself to defend the moderates and gain prestige ( and in the process gain some valuable real estate), he figured it would be an easy victory, he was mistaken. Did the US try to stop him, no and y should they? Did they help finance him (american banks, not the US government) yes but a whole lot of other countries r just as much to blame as the US in that regard (how come u never mention them?) some even more so.
your quote:
Not to mention the USA one of the masterminds of the whole carnage.... "who" is now bogged down in Iraq.........
Excuse me but where in the above quote did u bother to mention another country? Your bias is pathetically obvious.
So unless u have proof and i mean documents, not articles from a biased source that show the US actively pulling the strings then shut up with your BS . Others r tired of it.

drgonzo777,
Please repeat, and this time, in English... so that i can uderstand what your saying....
ronin2172,
USA made the war as long as costly to the both.. IE supplied intel and weapons to both.......
Also there have been many instances in which US military or leadership figures have commented the whole war and what they want from it as: "let em bleed to dead, its good for the USA"..........

How is that being a 'mastermind'? u still haven't posted any facts to that effect. And so what if an unnamed (or named) general makes a remark, does that make it a statement of US policy? People talk out of turn all the time, it doesn't make it national policy it only shows that persons feeling on the matter. If anything the above statement shows US disinterest in the whole situation. Yes the US would have liked to see Iran taken down, but so would have a whole lot of other countries, hell Saudi Arabia and Kuwait loaned Iraq billions of dollars. Plus u neglected to mention the fact that Iraq threatened to invade Kuwait in the 1960's (the british had to deploy troops and naval forces to ward of Iraqi aggression). So your assumption that that was the only cause for the 1990 invasion of Kuwait is false. You still haven't admitted to european complicity in the whole matter. You still name the US as the only guilty party.
Most of the US weapons systems were supplied to Iran BEFORE the revolution. The only other shipment was during the whole contra scandal (emphasis on scandal) which was illegal and widely condemmed in the US. What weapons did iraq get from the US? Iraq's main weapons suppliers were China, France, Brazil and the former Soviet Union, not counting independant arms dealers. If Iraq had any american weapons they captured them from Iran (Iraq captured tons of tanks incl. M60s and chieftans).
If u r gonna make a statement like that post FACTS
