View Full Version : User registration *ONLINE*
Ok, I re-enabled new user account creation. It requires a valid email address to activate your account. If you supply an invalid address, your account won't be able to be activated. Some people have had trouble signing up with hotmail accounts. The problem is on their end unfortunately, so there's not much I can do about it. I'm not going to manually activate accounts that the system can't verify. Feel free to drop me a line though if you're having problems.
So there's no confusion, new user registration is temporarily offline until I can take care of some database issues. If anyone creates a new user account right now, it'll go into oblivion and you won't be able to login. I'll post another announcement when it's back online.

Ehmmm.....Mr. Hood, Sir, What happend to the Sigs?
Abuse is what happened to the sigs, just like every other part of this site that goes unchecked. First it was the avatars, then it was the multiple accounts, then it was the endless country bashing. People were putting giant paragraphs, pictures, manifestos, and copies of the entire Koran in their sigs. I decided to put an end to it.

Would it be possible to bring them back with a 4 line restriction & no images (it must be possible to code this)?
Why do people need to say 4 lines of text for every single message they post? Unfortunately I can't turn off images for just the sigs, I'd have to turn them off for everything which I obviously can't do.
Because in 4 lines we can say:
'We want bigger sigs
And pictures in our sigs
Please dear site owner
We want them badly'
;)
BTW why did the post count / page change from 20 to 15?

Thank you Hood, and sorry for your troubles. I think losing the sigs is fine. Especially if it'd be very difficult, if not impossible, to limit them to just four written lines or whatever the case may be. I don't know about the post # change, Haiw, but I don't know if it really changes much (except perhaps in terms of lowering the amount of data per page).
Sorry and thanks again, Hood.
Have a good one all, and just some thoughts...

Delete members who are inactive for long periods of time unless they're deployed. Nyarrr
Losing sigs won't kill me.
