may have been posted, vid shows a few thrust vectoring moves.
at recent airshows f-22 has floated in vertical climb at a stand still, multiple loops while in place, tail slides...

Titled: Raptor performance at Langley
Amazing how it can just stand still in mid air. Sure, a sitting duck, but cool to see anywhoo ;)

This vectoring system, allowing the aircraft to"stand in mid-air" is an essential in dogfights ( But with who? :) 20yrs into the future dun duun duuuuuuun *cough* China *cough* rofl) Imagine you have a MiG on your tail, simply vector the thrust, stand in mid-air, let it pass! While you ingage the heat-seeking missile! BOOM BANG Ka-Pow!! No professional here, just a simple put together from me ol' noggin.

Thats a very very bad idea. Sitting still with no energy is just begging to get nailed by the bandit's wingman.
thats the best vid i seen.. Nice

Is the F-22 still in the testing phase or is it operational?

I think the trust vectoring is for high altitude turning not fancy hard turning.
yah thats true, im sure it could help in a emergency... plus they are discovering the planes capabilities still...

There are two operational squadrons right now. One at Langley and the other at Elmendorf, Alaska.
I am currently at Tyndall AFB, and this is the base where all the pilots are trained how to fly the jet. I wish I could get up close to it and take pics, but its not allowed.
cool vid
