A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.
"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.
"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."
The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.

God gave us brains so we could learn not to climb into lion cages. Last time I checked, the laws of physics and the law of the jungle applied equally to those of all faiths. :)

good one. My thought was this, you have a lion(s) they are preditors, Preditors KILL their food. Here in a zoo they get dead stuff while all the time snacks are walking about, gaucking at them, and eating treats just beyound their paws.
So now here you are a Lion, years has past and a snack decides to visit you. So the Lion says, Hey Let take a bite of the gene pool.
Christian Nutters, there GREAAAAAAAAT!!

Actually he said,

Well lets not forget all those pesky zoo keepers are human. Telling the lion where to go, what to eat, knocking out the lion for alien anal probes at the vet, waking up in a haze. I bet the lion would love to take revenge. What better way then their own kin jumping over the fence.

Hollis need I remind you that you thought it wasn't funny when I made a thread about Pat Robertsons plane crashing. You though I was being insensitive because people died in the crash.
Why are you being so rude to this guy who parished?
May his soul RIP........
[quote=HOLLiS]Ok so your no different, The criticism against him for saying the same stuff applies to you too!!!!
Turn about is not fair play. If it is wrong, then it is wrong PERIOD! to much injustice, murder, hate is all justified by, "turn about is fair play", or as you said, "what is good for the goose is good for the gander"
I think the only road to travel is the high road.

Er, on one hand you made fun of two charter pilots being killed in an airplane that belonged to Roberts.
Here we have a guy who decided to see if God would defend him from lions.
Now if you wanted to start a thread about a pilot, who pointed his plane at the ground, took his hands off the controls and called upon God to save him, I don't think anybody would have a problem with that (kinda sounds like EgyptAir 990, except that that aircraft was unfortunately full of people who hadn't agreed to the exercise).
I do feel bad for the guy, because he was obviously nuts (and if he was a Christian, he evidently didn't know his scripture very well -"ye shalt not tempt the lord thy God" etc.) - but your comparison is apples and Legos IMHO.

Actually, if you look I never made fun of the charter pilots or their death. I made fun of the fact that something bad happened top Pat Robertson, since he claims that God smites everyone, then he gets smited....
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
'He shall give His angels charge over you,'
and,
'In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'"
Some people just don't get it. Unfortunately, neither did the man described in the article. :(

1 Corinthians 10:9
We should not test the Lord, as some of them did -- and were killed by snakes.
Deuteronomy 6:16
16 Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah
Luke 4:12
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matthew 4:7
7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: `Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
Enough said.
This man put God to the test and he payed for it with his life.
