View Full Version : Request/Question: Air-to-Air Gatling pictures and clips

So this has been the main gun throughout many conflicts, and should probably be credited with quite a few air-to-air-kills, and air-to-ground-kills as well - but I cannot recall seeing many pictures or clips of "Vulcans in use" which is a bit strange since gun cameras were a fact even before the Vulcans came in use..

Does anyone have any material regarding this? I want to se Miniguns, Gatlings and Vulcans in action - and please, do not fill this thread with private Miniguns from knob-creek etc. filling air with tracers and emptying their owners wallets.. I want to se them in action during real wars, if I may.. ;)

Don't think so, thought they had a pair of 20mm.

The Starfighter was the first to carry the Vulcan IIRC.

F-105 Thunderchief...... Stupid Mig pilot just cut him off and the F-105 pilot reacted very quickly and got him with "Vulcan", As far as I know it was not even a proper dogfight, just sheer stupidity combine with good-luck.

Hehe those F-105's were tough birds and once they had dropped thier ordinance were as fast on the deck as a MIG21 plus they carried sidewinders for self defence. Thuds were credited with 25 MIG kills over Vietnam.

F-100s had 4 20mm cannon in the nose.
