The burning question: what have we been up to lately? Ever since our surprise Christmas present, a.k.a. AA:SF (Sandstorm), America's Army has been busy working on a number of things that I think you'll be pleased to learn about. So drop your rucks, kick off your boots, and fill your canteens while I fill you in on what's coming up in America's Army.
Special Forces (18-series) continues:
As most are already familiar, America's Army (AA) introduces new Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) with its version updates. Thus far, AA has introduced the Infantryman (MOS 11B), the Health Care Specialist or Medic (91W), and Special Forces (18-series). Just last November, Special Forces was introduced with an emphasis on Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS).
The answer to the question that many have been asking: yes, America's Army will continue developing content relating to the Special Forces MOS. In fact, you can count on seeing more Special Forces content in our next two version releases, culminating with the introduction of the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC). But there's more...
Stryker Brigade:
The next version of America's Army will introduce the Army's new Interim Armored Vehicle, a.k.a. the Stryker.
Karma Physics Implemented:
Character "Ragdoll" Physics will also be added in the next AA software update.
Multiplayer Maps:
Special Forces tours of duty continue with the introduction of 2 new maps (see screenshot above). Expect to see the Stryker, as well..
New Weapons:
You can't expect us to introduce vehicles without the appropriate armament, roger? The M136 AT4 will be introduced in our next version release.
