The Penguin missile (In us known as AGM-119) is a norwegian built anti-ship missile, and used by norway since 1972. It can be fired from helicopters, aircrafts and ships.

Yeah, I knew that. But I asked if they got any REAL antiship-missiles. The penguin is a small, IR-guided shortranged missile and not that capable compared to lets say RBS-15, Harpoon, Exocet etc.

If you referring to anti ship missile in acktive use it is the Penguin mk2 and mk3.The NSM snti ship missile is very soon to be implemented....

I guess it was originally intended to fight a soviet invasion in the norwegians fjords. And now they need a new and bigger missile for the open seas, and are therefore now developing the NSM.

okp-) but its still a real antiship-missile:)
Actually the NSM is designed for fjords and littoral warfare, too.

The NSM missile i designed to do attacks in both open sea and close to the shore and over land masses. It can when fired close to land follow the shore ,fjords and so on to avoid detection and when it is closing on the target it will actually do de tours around the target to get as close as it can whithout beeing seen on radar. If there are more NSM missiles fired on the same target it will coperate whit the others to impact target at the same time.Combine this with the fact that the NSM is the only anti-ship missile the has sthealth in the world makes this thing maybe the most deadly that has ever been made ,since this missile will actually have a high perecentage hit rate.
NSM will be a ****ty missile to escape when it is fired against you...!

Yaar! Royal norwegian navy! Miss it enormously at times... I served 2000-2003 on the hauk class MTB (Missile Torpedo Boat) and had the joy of doing both a live fire of the penguin missile and the TP613... Mighty fun... :D
And of course.... Together with the KJK, kicked the asses of blue forces, norwegian, english and german frigates, during every exercise... :D For some reason we were always OPFOR... :D

The CB 90 got 3 .50 cal M2 hmg, and the Hauk class arment is Penguin missile ,TP 613 torpedoes, mistral simbad + manpad SAMs and one Bofors 40mm L/70 gun.p-)
CB90 also employs Hellfire.

Both. :) They started with landbased operations, then the Swedes started launching them from the boat itself, and we caught on.

as far as I know the launching of hellfires off of the gyrostabilized platform on a cb90 is still experimental.. same as the experiment of placing mortars on the boat it places restrictions on the movement of the craft to ensure accuracy and limit the risk of malfunction..

I have as a hobby been collecting pictures and information on the Storm class boats for the purpose of building a large scale RC model. Most FTB type models built in the US are of the Elco or Higgens PT type, but in researching one kit, I came across the Storm class , and really liked its lines. The Navy in Oslo was very helpful with data, and I have found most of the routine pics availible on the web. Anyone have some unpublished pics they can share?

You've always been trying to copy us, b'tches.. p-)
Nah, just kidding!
Would be kinda weird if you didn't caught on since the CB90 system is made in Sweden and since it's a good improvement.
Nice pics mates..
