Well I guess things are returning to normal again down there.
NEW ORLEANS - Five people ranging in age from 16 to 19 were killed in a street shooting early Saturday, the most violent crime reported in this slowly repopulating city since Hurricane Katrina hit last August.

Well it's a non-military news story, so I figured I'd put it in the Off Topic section. Am I that far off?

I think the political discussion forum is also non military related. :)
Anyways, I've known for months that crime was back in NO, like it was before Katrina happen.

Yes, and that's where I post non-military postings related to politics and/or government. Any other news stories I usually post here.

Well, they are restoring their chocolate city, in the words of the "great" Mayor Nagin. With chocolate comes crime. Interesting. Someone should do a scientific study.

Versace, you might want to edit your last posting as not to offend others.

Versace, you might want to edit your last posting as not to offend others. And the chocolate city reference wouldn't? Comeon, at least be PC with both of the offenders. Besides, I'm pretty sure Versace was just jokingly spelling it out for the people who didn't get Kersh's comment. If I cared, I'd be more offended at what he said than what Versace said...as the former actually came off as racist rather than a joke.
But anyway, good to see life has finally returned to normal for the citizens of NO. ;)

GS : You're right :) I'm just kidding dudes, beside yall know the difference between the N word and "niggah", Tupac explained it fine. ;)

Actually, I didn't know there was a difference. I thought saying it either way was offensive. Silly me.

I think something that comes off as a blatantly racist comment is much more offensive than a misspelled word with 1s instead of exclamation marks and a winky-face. But, to each his own. *shrug*

I agree, we black people are the ones who keep hanging onto our slave heritage by not letting go of words like "nigga". It isn't offensive at all now because it is used so much. In my opinion words like that are just ways to keep reminding whites what happened in the past and its an excuse not to put down the guns and pick up the books. The black culture MTV promotes is another reason for black problems but thats another thread.

I figured the majority of people were familiar with Mayor Nagin's RACIST comment about rebuilding his "chocolate" city. I was attempting to pull out some sarcasm with my comment.

I caught it. They can have that swamp, just don't expect the US to pay to bail them out again.*
*Yes I understand the ball was dropped so to speak with the rescue effort, but seriously, you build a house below sea leve, in a hurican ****e area, then think it's some kind of misfortune that you got flooded? You want to live there, you accept the risk.

I mean, come on, we ALL know that President Bush ordered the SEALs into New Orleans to blow the dams. Its a big conspiracy.
P.S. - Scrybe, I agree with you all the way. For lack of better words, those f*ckers had it coming.
