VIENNA, Austria - President Bush on Wednesday won a robust endorsement from European leaders for his tough approach to nuclear standoffs with Iran and North Korea, despite trans-Atlantic differences on Iraq, Guantanamo Bay and trade. European Union leaders emerged from a summit with Bush in this capital of cafes and cobblestones to back U.S. demands that North Korea abandon a long-range missile test and that Iran quit dragging its feet in responding to a Western plan aimed at getting it to suspend uranium enrichment activity.

Sounds impossible, but hopefully true. Even the French agreed.

While another thread gives the impression our "image" continues to
fall this thread shows some unity in thought with the hated US.

It's nice to know we can get something right. It does prove very much
that the EU isn't strictly "anti-US" in their politics. I don't think they
ever were but those wonderful unbiased 'polls' would make you think
otherwise.

Well, my thoughts are that the smarter leaders don't have overall opinions on countries, only opinions on the individual actions they make.
