Well I might have gotten mine slightly early. Bought a few mortar kits (can't have a 4th without mortars :-D ) some are triple breaks. Got 2 of the big mortar kits which are automatic 25-50 shots for grand finales, 2 large bottle rocket kits (8 rockets), and some smoke bombs.

i only have little stuff... firecrackers, about 300 bottlerockets, and who knows what else...

its funny... back in the bay area they wouldnt sell them, but here in central oregon and the height of fire season, they are all over! p-)

I blew the corner of my little finger off with an M80. Or rather, someone threw it at my feet and the gravel the shot up did.

It's all fun and games till someone's mom freaks out.

Be careful with those. 3 houses burned last night because of fireworks during the festivities of St-Jean Baptiste... Can't be too cautious.

might get a few, but the real show is from Lake Winnie (theme park), thats less than mile from where I live.

They shoot off some really big fireworks! sound like cannons firing off.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who treat fireworks like they are a toy. I've always been aware of the risks and generally look towards safety as I prefer to keep my limbs intact as well as those watching around us. I've had a few friends in the past who think it's funny to stick the mortar shells in backwards, they weren't laughing when they had a chunk of the tube sticking in their elbow. I've watched and learned.

I've got a few things saved up from a trip through New Mexico a couple years ago. Our firework laws here in Oregon suck. If the state had anything to say about it, I'd be walking around my front yard with a sprinkler like the special olympics torch barrer. I want to celebrate my country like a true American, by blowing up a small piece of it!

I plan to be here for the 4th http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=47.487049~-123.597565&style=h&lvl=11 so there will be no explosions near me, hopefully.

It sucks, I always get a lot of fireworks and have ALOT of fun over the 4th, but this 4th Im in the city and an another state. I wont be able to do anything.

:(

I remember about seven years ago my father bought about 200 dollars worth of fireworks, and my grandpa bought atleast 200 dollars worth of fireworks. Then two neighbors bought considerable amounts of fireworks as well.

We basically blocked off the street and atleast 5 families participated in the festivities. Probably around a thousand dollars or more worth of firecrackers. That was a good fourth of july.

They blew 4 houses? WTF? What happened?

Anyways going to my mothers boyfriends house to blow them off, he has a house off the sound here so we'd be launching them off the beach (it's private). Of course I can't say artillery shells are too good for the water due to the chemicals but no matter where I launch them someones bound to complain =/

If we stopped buying fireworks and would spend that money on medical support for poor nations, millions and millions people would die less each year.

BUT I LOVE FIREWORKS !!!

I BUY EVERYTHING, I DON'T CARE, BUT IT HAS TO MAKE BOOM !!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!

I usually take the whole fam damily to the Rapids game at Mile High and watch the Fireworks show afterwards.

I have some fireworks, M80's, bottle rockets, etc. But last time I set this stuff off in my apt complex, they got a little pissed off.

My nutcase friend got drunk and started shooting bottle rockets at the apt buildings across the lake...not a good idea.

I'll be staying low key this 4th. Besides Louisville has a pretty tight fireworks show.

They set off tons of fireworks on bridges over the Ohio and on barges and ships in the river

So the fifth isn't actually a public holiday? It's just that I deal with people in States for my job and whenever they have a day off it's a right pain in the arse.

Nope just the 4th. Do you have some kind of holiday like the 4th?

gaz

There's not really an equivalent but we do have November 5th where we bang out the fireworks. It's essentially a traditional "Burn a Catholic" night.

What the hell...

I just went to a huge TNT fireworks tent in the Fred Meyer parking lot with my brother and what do I find.... absolutely nothing!

Apparently anything that is propelled into the air is illegal?!

No mortars, roman candles, even bottlerockets :(

I ended up just buy a s*** load of ground flowers (you can get creative with em) and a few fountains (read: boring)...

Oh well, still got about 200 bottlerockets from last year p-)
