A British soldier is covered by flames from a fuel bomb thrown during a violent protest in Basra, Iraq March 22, 2004. Two explosions in the southern Iraqi city of Basra wounded 13 British soldiers on Monday, in an attack that followed the demonstration by unemployed youths, the British military said. ''e can confirm reports of two explosions in central Basra which appear to have been targeted against coalition forces,' a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense in London said. 'None of the injuries is thought to be life-threatening.' (Atef Hassan/*******)

Fortunately it's been reported in this mornings papers that none of the soldier's injuries are life threatening.

I just checked another thread and found the majority of these have been posted before, this is what I get for working all day then going to a concert and not checking the board.

My apologies.

I saw that the soldier was on fire in the first picture. :D
After the third, I started to wonder on how close you wanted to go before it was to close. ;)

In an official report issued today, the MoD has said that whilst two of the soldiers injured in yerterday's clashes have serious injuries, none are thought to be life threatening, and amazingly there were no burns injuries.

Thank goodness all of our years of experience of I.S, duties and training have paid off.

Provided they had fire-suppression personnel on site at the time and they responded as quick as they should, i'm guessing first degree burns on the arms and perhaps some second degree in the neck area. Nothing that would mark him for life, except perhaps some scarring if the second degree part was the case.

We can, however confirm that despite dramatic pictures taken during the incident none of those injured sustained burns injuries
already posted once but still comments like the two above!
Although dramatic, it is the petrol from the petrol bomb that is burning, not the soldier.
Same as the burning hand trick, as long as its out before the petrol stops burning and the skin (or in this case clothing) starts, no burns.

If you hate them, you're in the wrong job (if you are a sniper). Emotions like hate will cause you to act beyond the scope of your ROE/orders.

Yes, and in chosing the soldiers profession one accepts, to a certain extent, the risk of someone throwing stuff at you. Said stuff including petrol bombs, rockets of various kinds, grenades, cuddly toys, kitchen sinks and so forth...

really hate those iraqi people !
Thats quite alright. Im sure they hate you as well. Now run along back to AWP-0wning counterstrike like the "sniper" you are.

anyway, hope the soldier will be allright
Yes, apparently they will be OK according to the statement of a british press-officer after the riots.
