Good pics. As for the Marines on trial, they should be honored for doing their job, not punished. President Bush, I voted for you, now do the right thing, for once in your life. Let these Marines go free and continue to put their lives on the line for you and your administration. Now, I'll be waiting on that call from the Secret Service I guess.

They're accused of killing a disabled, unarmed civilian. Why in God's name should be set free without a trial?

you pretty darn sure he was unarmed?

hopefully you do practice what you folks always remind us about Gitmo: innocent until proven guilty, fair trial by jury - except for members of the US armed forces in your case...I hope I'm wrong about me thinking you're smearing those guys until their trial is up.

I'm going to stick my big fat nose in here..

I'm pretty sure he said "accused".. not "They did"

I fail to see a smear here.

I understand perfectly well, wanting to protect your own.. and yes, they ARE innocent untill proven guility.

In these situations, the wagons are circled and squad mates band together.. it is the way it should be.

However, SHOULD a soldier, in time of war or not, behave in a manner un-appropriate, harming a non-combatant in a deliberate manner, is completely unacceptable, and the full weight of the law should be applied,

Obviously, we were not there, so we cannot, should not judge. Let the law take it's course.. the innocent will be free, the guilty will be punnished.

Oh, GhOsT_TaLoN..
I do some of those things some may dream about..

As a member of the US military, I assume it is the same as in Ausstralia.

You submit yourself not to the law of your nation, but to the service law. That removes certain rights....these pricks should be handed over to Mr. Sadr if they are guilt....makes me sick....

Good pics. As for the Marines on trial, they should be honored for doing their job, not punished. President Bush, I voted for you, now do the right thing, for once in your life. Let these Marines go free and continue to put their lives on the line for you and your administration. Now, I'll be waiting on that call from the Secret Service I guess.

Well if they're innocent, what have they got to worry about?

It only goes to trial if they have the evidence to support make a case. If they are innocent...they will walk....think about the actions they have performed...murdered a disabled man....that is heaps lower than a suicide bomber....

Why in hell should I support these guys if they are guilty? I know too little about the case to choose sides so I won't. Let the justice department do their job. If they really killed an umarmed civilian in cold blood than let them hang. If they didn't or if the situation was such that you can't really blame them (accidental shooting) than set them free.

So don't be so light on your feet. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Well.....isnt the USA a bastion of freedom and democracy?

It only goes to trial if they have the evidence to support make a case. If they are innocent...they will walk....think about the actions they have performed...murdered a disabled man....that is heaps lower than a suicide bomber....

Yes, im sure they just decided one day to pick out a random cripple and shoot him for no apperant reason. Yeah that definitely sounds logical.

Oh yeah whatever happened to Haditha?

When riot police move in on hostile crowds they should be allowed to be as aggresive as possible, short of live ammo (apparently that would be wrong to some). Like stun grenades, lots of tear gas, pepper balls and spray, water cannons and lots and lots of rubber bullets and bean bag bullets. And be merciless!

That pic reminds me of the "hardhat" pro-Nixon supporters during Vietnam, although I wasn't alive yet. Very powerful imagery.

If our nation stands for anything then the accused Marines must stand trial and accept their judgment. Period.

Part of the oath every service member swears too, is to defend the Constitution of the US.

To free these men without trial would only provide further ammo to critics of both our nation and the mission in Iraq.

Quite frankly, nothing more needs to be said...

I don't know how you connect a charge of murder with the Oath to Defend the Constitution. The only crime in the Constitution is Treason.

Neither is a DUI.

However, this is in reference to the Amendments.

Well if they're innocent, what have they got to worry about?
You have obviously never had any experience with the law. You get all the justice you can pay for...

I don't understand... they'll have to pay for their own lawyers? Or are you saying that a verdict can be influenced by money in an American military court? God I hope not....

So what, you'd rather have them avoid going to trial because you don't trust the system?

Most rediculous thing i've read all day. If they're guilty, they'll go down. If they're not guilty, they'll go free. Lack of money is not going to hang these guys - you saw all those photos of people supporting them, right?
