I had placed an order for some custom made patches at Camotech well over a month ago, with the clear understanding that they were needed for something this week (some buddies of mine are going to Iraq on Thursday).
I kept asking where, via e-mail, the patches were. I kept getting "we're working on them" messages.
Well, it's five days off, and unless they're done and in the mail (not bloody likely), I got charged on my credit card for nothing. I just wrote and said that unless they were actually in transit right now, to cancel everything.

I got their name from this forum, and was wondering if anyone else has had any orders done by them? If so, isnt well over a month enough time???

Well you're not the only schmuck waiting on an order. Last I got a quote from them they said with the backup of orders that the wait would be 6-8 weeks AT LEAST. I got them in about 7.5 weeks. Camotech is good people, its just that with anything custom like this, and with their smaller scale of operations, you have to factor in more time.

I phoned in an order for a custom hat and patch, made it clear I was not in the services and that my order is not a rush. Now, the lady I spoke to made it clear that she was a mom and pop company and they were behind, I was advised my order would more than likely be 8wks out which is not a problem.
I suggest you give them a call and let them know that they are past the deadline they advised they would have them ready by and you need a refund to your Credit Card. Be polite at all times though, but phone them.

OK Guys, Linda at Camotech is a small company, and because of the good work she does, she has a lot of work to do. I just spoke to her this past week. I'm having her do some work for me for my business. and she is very truthful about the delay. Her husband is a former Marine, and now in the reserves, and she respects the military 110%. If you have a problem just give Linda a call, and like Geezah explained talk to her. She's not like the Recce Gear asshole who takes your money, and never sends you your order. She is honest, and very nice. She has so much work that she's expanding machines etc... so relax, and remember that your not the only military deploying in the US...

I've had lots of work done by her, and she's great...

Thanks for the heads-up on them, guys. Really. I had no idea it was such a small operation.
They just returned my e-mail and apologized for the delays. They’re sending the stuff to me FedEx and not charging me the difference. So I guess this story has a happy ending after all!

Indeed. I got the patches in the mail via FedEx THIS AFTERNOON. Linda hadn't even gotten all the money from me as I'd tacked on some other patches nto the order a few weeks ago. In short, she trusted me to pay her. Naturally, I called her today with my credit card info and a hearty, "thanks a million" to a well-deserving lady!
Yeah, you might wait a while. But great folks.
I'll gladly eat crow on this one!
