What would be your Sniper Rifle of choice?

G3SG/1
This is the accurised variant of the G3 designed for sniping. The "SG" stands for "Scharfschützengewehr" or sharp shooting rifle. The rifles were picked from the production line for their mechanical accuracy and then modified. A 6x Hensoldt scope was added using the H&K mount attached to the receiver. In addition a special set trigger group was added, which enabled the trigger to be set in semi-automatic mode. This allowed a crisp pull of 1 lb. In addition, automatic fire was retained.
I think the G3SG/1 is pretty accurate while still useful in a mid range shootout. You could replace the trigger group if you wanted aswell to allow for automatic fire but the set trigger intrigues me.
That's not really a sniper rifle.
edit: nevermind that if your intention was "long range" rifles rather than sniper rifles.

I have two G3, and should sell one. Fine firearm, but no way is it a "Snipers" rifle. Actual term would be designated Marksman, like with a M14 variant.
Maybe try search, this has been discussed a lot.

The G3SG/1 always had automatic fire as standard.

My choice is not really a sniper rifle, but has a floating barrel which make it as accurate even without the use of sniper grade ammo and can be fitted with a 6x scope.

I would love to have an Accuracy International AWM rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum caliber (.338 Lapua Mag though more powerful would have a too heavy recoil for me even with muzzle break...)
Or even a Sako TRG 42 (folding stock like used by Swiss army) in .300WM too.
