now colt came out with the new 1020 and IIRC someone else offer a piston upper...leitner-wise maybe

Correct on L-W offering a pistol driven upper.

yup the LW gas piston upper is as close to the HK piston upper as you can get.....the LW MRS will be my next rifle I am thinking.(modular capable of shooting 223 6.8 and 762x39 with just swapping mag bolt and barrel) other gas piston uppers on the market right now...Robarms XCR and the LMT MRP(both rifles also modular)

both gas piston but the set up is totally different if you break apart each rifle you would see.....LW is pretty close to an HK set up...if I had to go with one of the rifles mentioned above it would be theirs or possibly the XCR, again gas piston upper but totally different uses long stroke gas piston Like an AK instead of short stroke gas piston like the HK and LW

You go ahead with the XCR. We ordered 30, got one, six weeks of delays and the 2 week promise for some more, and then a factory recall.....we cancelled the entire order and moved on. It is shrikeware at this point, but at least teh shrikes delivered ran right.

factory recall? first I have heard of this...fact is there are alot of XCRs out and people are really raving about them...yes I know about the whole 2 week thing and pissed me off as well....so much so I spoke to Alex Robinson about it when I was at shot show this year...none the less this is the first thing I have ever heard of any recall? details please

POF system utilize a FN FAL gas system, they basically transplant a FN gas ststem and grafted it onto an AR... it has been reliable and a well thought out design, it is very nice to shoot and very accurate. it's only problem is the large gaqs system which require using a rail on rail platfomr like the Predator rail.

The HK is bacially a G36 system which is basically a take off of the Ar180 system.

The LW is very similar to the HK but more like the AR16 gas system.

Eachhas its own merits, but I like the LW the best, it is a light weight unit that does a fine job.
