$350.00!!!

If you find a cheaper one let me know. I have a huge load of Flecktarn stuff and this would be a great addition. That site is great, expensive but really good. I have purchased from them before. When buying Flecktarn that is my last resort due to prices but it's always a sure bet.

Hope you find what you're looking for!

The flecktarn IDZ vest which you can buy at various gear shops in Germany is NOT THE ISSUE VERSION! It`s made in Germany though it does not sport the same features as the issue IDZ vest which comes with back pouches for the batteries and all the electronic stuff.
Although some fo the original vests were offered on German Ebay recently they are actually not supposed to be sold at all hence being limited to government issue.
What you can buy is a commercialized version that is way too expensive.

Believe me, I`ve been in some one of the airborne units testing IDZ gear during trials.

If you want stuff that is popular among German operators go for the Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig or Ammo Vest, buy Arktis (although i personally dislike their poor quaility) or search German Ebay for some KSK vests (they are sold at on of the manufacturers in Germany for €250-300€) and are sometimes overpriced at Ebay auctions.
Get some decent Eagle industries gear, it`s in use with some operators.

Addition:
The "IdZ-Vest" sold on gearshops ist basically a KSK-Vest with an IdZ-style attachment system instead of fixed pouches.

Excactly. The pouches may be the same but the vest is not the genuine issue version.
There have been concerns that the IDZ vest might be too heavy as it also features vertical PALS webbing. BTW German PALS is not compatible with MOLLE pouches, it`s just not wide enough to accomodate US pouches.

Thanks for the info.... Any suggestions on good shops that I can order German gear from in Germany?

You should check on riehl-military.de. It`s right out of the airborne school maingate at Altenstadt, he`s the only guy in Germany selling Arktis gear.

Also you might have a look at survivalequiment.de, they have some decent (though pricey) smocks and all the (mostly BCB British stuff) that`s part of the German Special Forces survival Kit.

Stay away from any Miltec or other commercial rip offs.

Arktis is still popular (the Commando Smock was once an issue item for German special operators), like some people have the classic chest rig or the battle vest.

Some items are actually not for commercial resale, so ebay is a good place to start from.

Thanks for the link. Do you know anything about MMB? I am assuming they are a manufacturer. Good Quality?

Same quality as Miltec, it`s actually a commercial version of tacgear (which is actually already a commercial version of Arktis).

Good quality: Sure not!

MMB also produces Rip-Offs of KHS-Gear.

KHS make and sell some decent stuff too.

And a good general commercial supplier with a very wide range of kit is www.recon-company.com (http://www.recon-company.com), I've bought loads of stuff from them and they always have good service.

Jepp, their`re not bad either. The only problem (as with most dealers) is that they usually do not have all the fancy stuff readily available.

If you want KSK vests go for the company that makes them: www.multidesign.de (http://www.multidesign.de)

I forgot to mention that the best way to get what you need or inquire about the prices is to send them an email or call them.
They are the company that made the first KSK vest and the company is actually referred to as MOSKITO
