I have been having this problem for a really long time. but it has been getting progressively more annoying as time goes on.basically what the issue is is that whenever i'm using my mouse, the cursor will shoot over to the other side of the screen or something when i dont even move the mouse that way. Soemtimes I will be going to click something and it will shoot over to the X and I will accidentally click my program off. Or even worse sometimes it will shoot to the start button and i will click shut down.
It;s an optical mouse and I figuire it may be because my mouse pad I use is kind of a light blue reflective surface.
Anything else you guys can think of that may fix it?

Clean the laser thingee. I always get dog hair in mine, which fecks up the laser.

Get a different mouse pad. My old optical mouse did the exact same thing when I didn't use a mousepad. I got one that was a dull blue, no more problems.

Anything else you guys can think of that may fix it? Try reinstalling the drivers, if that doesn't work, you may have to kick down the ~$30 or so and buy a new one. Get a laser mouse, it works on the same principles as the opticals. I've had that problem too.

I just sent my ubber fancy bluetooth mini mouse back to the manufacturer. Perhaps you still have a warranty.

Look directly into the laser for 45 minutes.

Your mouse is getting worn out, you need to stop posting for five years by which time it will have self repaired.

The same thing happened to me at school when we had these ****ty dell opticals on ****ty dell mousepads. All I had to do to fix it though was not use the mousepad. The mousepad had shiney bits all over it that reflected the laser in all different directions and thats why the cursor will shoot all over the place.

try another mouse, if u still have the same problem, theres an application in your computer thats causing all ur problems

if it works fine with the other mouse, then u need to buy a new one

I had a Microsoft optical mouse, and it would regularly do what you are saying. I bought a Logitech and have had no problems. MS sucks!

Is cursor intentionaly goes to shutdown, close buttons? Or its starts flying and clicking everything ? ANyway I would check PC with antivirus software :) And use linux, if you don't play games you will find everything you need there... and such strange things don't happen :)

You don't need laser to watch ****...

don't know if you checked this . . .

Look under Mouse properties -> Pointer Options (Tab)

The second box down (Snap To) is an option you could have on. What it does is puts the pointer over the "default" button in a window. The default button for window is the start menu . . .

If that doesn't work, time for a new mouse pad/mouse

Were you too busy stealing cabbage that you didn't read his first post?

You're talking out of your arse thus my replies

I 've read his post and he never said he tried a different mouse, nor he said he needs a laser one :), and I seen simmiliar mouse behaviour because of virus(on one than more computer, with different mouses, ball ones) thats why I asked about virus... Morover you don't need to be agresive, its not my fault you were kicked out of World Cup :)

OK slow this time, especially for you.

If you've read the other comments you would know this phenomena is due to LED based mouses. The solution is a laser one or a better pad.

Second, I'm not agressive just responding in kind. And you of all people shouldn't even mention the World Cup....

Clean the laser thingee. I always get dog hair in mine, which fecks up the laser.

Then stop using your dog and get a mouse mat.
