The X-43 will be launched on a test flight 27 March as part of NASA's experimential hypersonic flight test program. During testing the air-launched X-43A with its attached Pegasus booster is carried by a NASA B-52 to an altitude of approximately 40,000 feet and released off the coast of California. In a series of test flights the Hyper-X pgroam will explore speeds ranging from Mach 7-10 and altitudes over 100,000 feet.
