Found this and thought it was a cool vid of an A-10 providing close air support in the mountains

Is that orange cloth a signal to the pilot that they are friendly units? It seems a bit too small to be seen from the altitude that A-10 was flying.

Yes.
You'd be suprised at what you can see in the mountains. Little orange goes a long way. Colors like that draw your eye to them. That and they probably had more than one placard out.

It sounds from the guy speaking on the video that the enemy got away?? Is this right?
In any case that 30mm GAU gun sounds very scary! Especially when that deep grunting sound reverberates in those high mountains- it sounds like a huge mountain beast.
