Ok guys here it is: I need to get from Denver CO to Tulsa OK on Monday July 31. I have tried looking up one-ways but they seem to be about $215 or more. I dont want to spend that much. Does anybody have any suggestions besides the following:
google, travelocity, travelzoo, orbitz, expedia, cheaptickets,
Im kinda looking for something not mainstream or something I can bid on. I dont think priceline will let me bid b/c its only a one-way.
Thanks much

Looks like you could rent a car from Hertz and drive it for less than $100.

Don't forget about gas... it would be well above an airline ticket (in fuel costs) to drive from Denver to Tulsa, and then drive back...

One thing to keep in mind is that the longer you wait, the more expensive the ticket will become. That $200 one way ticket you looked at today might be $400 tomorrow.
I'd jump on the $200 ticket while it's still that price.

He's looking for one-way tickets.
On Hertz, a Ford Focus was $93.
The fuel economy of the Ford Focus on the highway is 31-34mpg. Let's say 31 to be safe.
Google Maps says it is 688 miles from Denver to Tulsa. Assuming you take there route with minimal stops:
688 / 31 = 22.19
The current national average for unleaded fuel is 2.986.
(22.19 x 2.986) + 93 = $159.26
Then, figure he stops three times to eat, $10 is a pretty decent meal, that's $189.
But hey, maybe you know something more than me, Papelgod.

Why are flights in the US so expensive ?
Here I fly for a few euros to anywhere in the EU.

With the crappy exchange rate $200 is equal to a few Euros.

What about traffic and other things of that nature? plus the fact that it is a very long drive, and being only 25 dollars less (without counting unpredictable traffic/ construction), it doesn't seem worth it...
