The French Army uses a lot of marching song when doing close order drill or while marching in platoon or company sized detachment.

For example, if you go in formation from the company barracks to the canteen, you sing; to a battalion parade, you sing....

Each battalion, company and platoon has its own marching song. We sing during mess evenings, company or battalion meals, parades....

Many songs are of German origin adapted with French lyrics (Panzer Lied, Rot schein die Sohne...) that the Germans can't sing anymore; they often go teary-eyed when we do during exchanges with the Bundeswehr...

How is it in your armies on that score ?

Israel sings.. and here in the US we have songs.. but I've never seen anyone in my unit sing (other than the patriotic songs at ceremonies).

Songs from the Spanish legion. If you explore that website you'll find many Spanish military songs. But the one I like the most is Legion's "The death's boyfriend": El novio de la muerte.

This is a marching song, not a running cadence.
Its sung to the tune of "Old King Cole was a merry old soul and a merry old soul was he etc"

Chesty Puller

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Privates three.
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)
The army's fair, but they can't compare to Marine Corps Infantry!

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
called for his Corporals three.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
called for his Sergeants three.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
And he called for his Gunny's three.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Louies three.
We do all the work said the Louie.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Captains three.
Who's gonna drive my Jeep? Said the Captain
We do all the work said the Louie.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Majors three.
I need a bigger desk said the major.
Who's gonna drive my jeep? Said the Captain
We do all the work said the Louie.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Colonels three.
When can I play golf? Said the Colonel.
I need a bigger desk said the major.
Who's gonna drive my jeep? Said the Captain.
We do all the work said the Louie.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.
I need a three day pass said the Corporal
Beer! Beer! Beer! Said the Privates.

(Chorus)

Chesty Puller was a good Marine,
a good Marine was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his guns
and he called for his Generals three.
Keep those Privates straight! Said the Generals
When can I play golf? Said the Colonel.
I need a bigger desk said the major.
Who's gonna drive my jeep? Said the Captain.
We do all the work said the Louie.
That's a crock of **** said the Gunny.
Left right left said the Sergeant.

woot We have many songs, and almost avery unit personalizes them, so the same song can change some words or whole sections form one unit to another.
Besides running cadences or march songs, we have manyanthems for evry branch and special units of the armed forces.

And mi signature is one of the march/running cadence:

Damn, where it is?
Well, it's this one:

La Muerte por ser mujer
es bonita y traicionera.
Por eso siempre estará
acechante y a la espera.

Si tu ves venir la muerte
riete bien alto y fuerte,
apúntale entre los ojos
métele un tiro en la frente.

Y si sigue insistiendo
no te has de preocupar.
Morir para un fusilero
siempre ha sido lo normal.
