What the F*** are Israelis allowing photos of their soldiers crying, bleeding, etc. to be plastered all over the 'net. Regardless of the reason, it would appear that they're getting their asses handed to them...and badly.

That was a wierd post. After seeing a dozen photos of injured Israeli soldiers you presume they are getting their asses kicked? Soldiers get hurt in combat situations everywhere. You can't presume that you will get zero casualties.

On the one hand I agree the DIBs (Dumb Israeli Bastards - us) are being too liberal with press access. On the other hand, this stuff always happens; 6-7 wounded chayalim doesn't an asskicking make. Welcome to the age of the Internet. If we'd of had it at Tarawa or Dieppe, there might not have been an allied voctory in WWII.

Wow lots of Merkava Mk4 pics. Excellent - thanks all!
Good to see that the IDF are employing their best armors in S. Lebanon. Nice thing about the Merkavas is the ability to carry or evac soldiers in the back space.

After the Cedar Revolution, the Lebanese managed to eject Syria from their nest (http://www.coxandforkum.com/archives/000551.html), but Hezbollah was allowed to stay, whether out of fear or sympathy or some combination of both. The Lebanese were supposed to disarm Hezbollah, but the "Party of God," supported by Iran's Islamic theocracy and Syria's regime, has become a lethally armed "state within a state." Hezbollah is not only responsible for terrorist attacks against Israelis; Americans have died at theirs hands too, most notably the 1983 Beirut attack in which 241 U.S. Marines were killed (http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/05/30/iran.barracks.bombing/). There should be no doubt who is the enemy here.
As Lebanon is being used as a shield for Hezbollah, both politically and literally (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3278026,00.html), some Lebanese have cried for help (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=21527&only) in the fight against Hezbollah's presence in their country.
But some Lebanese officials have been more conciliatory toward Hezbollah. Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060720/ap_on_re_mi_ea/mideast_fighting_hezbollah_3) has expressed sympathy with Hezbollah claims against Israel. Lebanese President Emile Lahoud (http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/20/mideast.diplomacy/) formally thanked Iran for its support during the Israeli attacks, knowing that Hezbollah is using missiles made in Iran. And though its been reported that the Lebanese army is too weak to take on Hezbollah, this report (http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1153291959920&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull) says the Lebanese army may join forces with the "Party of God" to take on Israel.
As criticism of Israel rises with the Lebanese deathtoll, it is paramount to remember: Hezbollah initiated this war by crossing Israel's border from Lebanon to kill eight Israeli soldiers and kidnap two. Hezbollah then returned to take refuge in Lebanon where the terrorist group enjoys a safe haven behind Lebanese human shields. The civilian casualties in Lebanon will continue to rise so long as Lebanon continues to harbor Hezbollah. Every single Lebanese victim should be laid at the feet of Hezbollah and any Lebanese who have supported Hezbollah's home in Lebanon.
UPDATE I -- July 21: At Level Ground (http://betbender.blogspot.com/2006/07/little-good-news-today-updated.html) notes the good news of those rallying behind Israel.
UPDATE II: From the Ayn Rand Institute: The Indispensable Condition of Peace (http://www.aynrand.org/site/News2?JServSessionIdr004=wep5cjqy41.app14b&page=NewsArticle&id=12831&news_iv_ctrl=1021) by Onkar Gate.
To achieve peace in the Middle East, as in any region, there is a necessary principle that every party must learn: the initiation of force is evil. And the indispensable means of teaching it is to ensure that the initiating side is defeated and punished. Decisive retaliatory force must be wielded against the aggressor. So long as one side has reason to think it will benefit from initiating force against its neighbors, war must result. Yet this is precisely what America's immoral foreign policy gives the Palestinian Authority, Hamas and Hezbollah reason to think. Israel is a free country, which recognizes the rights of its citizens, whatever their race or religion, and which prospers through business and trade. It has no use for war and no interest in conquest. But for years, Arafat and the Palestinian authorities, with the aid of Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and other states, sought not to learn the conditions of freedom, but to annihilate the only free nation in their midst: Israel. Did the United States demand that the Palestinian leadership be destroyed?
No. Clinton invited Arafat to dine at the White House and Bush declared that peace requires Israel to give in to its aggressor's insistence on a state.
UPDATE III: Rich Chandler comments on some CNN coverage: Poor Hezbollah! (http://mauser.livejournal.com/171262.html).
UPDATE IV: Regime Change Iran has an article on the Lebanese perspective: The Lebanese really blame Hezbollah (http://regimechangeiran.blogspot.com/2006/07/lebanese-really-blame-hezbollah.html) by Michael Young.
The Lebanese people have watched as Hezbollah has built up a heavily armed state-within-a-state that has now carried the country into a devastating conflict it cannot win and many are fed up. Sunni Muslims, Christians and the Druze have no desire to pay for the martial vanity of the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Nor will they take kindly to his transforming the devastation into a political victory. Some even welcome Israel’s intervention. As one Lebanese politician said to me in private (but would never dare say in public) Israel must not stop now. It sounds cynical, he said, but ‘for things to get better in Lebanon, Nasrallah must be weakened further’.
Even some Shiites are beginning to have doubts about Nasrallah. If interviewed on television they will praise Hezbollah, but when the cameras are off, there are those who will suddenly become more critical. Many have had to flee, leaving behind their homes and possessions with no hope of recovering anything of any worth.

From the Arlington National Cemetery: The Bombing of the Marine Barracks, Beirut Lebanon (http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/terror.htm).
On October 23, 1983 at 6:22 a.m., a large delivery truck drove to the Beirut International Airport where the Marine Barracks was located. After turning onto an access road leading to the compound, the driver rushed through a barbed-wire fence, passed between two sentry posts, crashed through the gate, and slammed into the lobby of the barracks.
The driver detonated explosives with the power equal to more than 12,000 pounds of TNT. The explosion crumbled the four-story building, crushing service members to death while they were sleeping.
The terrorist attack killed 220 Marines and 21 other U.S. service members who were stationed there to help keep the peace in a nation torn by war.
It was the bloodiest day in the Corps' history since World War II, when Marines fought to secure Iwo Jima.
From CNN: Iran responsible for 1983 Marine barracks bombing, judge rules (http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/05/30/iran.barracks.bombing/).
Iran is responsible for the 1983 suicide bombing of a U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed 241 American servicemen, a U.S. District Court judge ruled Friday [May 30, 2003]. U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth said the suicide truck bombing was carried out by the group Hezbollah with the approval and funding of Iran's senior government officials.
From TimesOnline: God's army has plans to run the whole Middle East (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2092-2281184_1,00.html) by Amir Taheri.
Terror has been its principal weapon. Throughout the 1980s Hezbollah kidnapped more than 200 foreign nationals in Lebanon, most of them Americans or western Europeans (including Terry Waite, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s envoy). It organised the hijacking of civilian aircraft and more or less pioneered the idea of suicide bombings against American and French targets, killing almost 1,000 people, including 241 US marines in Beirut and 58 French paratroopers.Charles Johnson is doing a excellent job of rounding up photos and reports of anti-Israel demonstrations around the world. An Israeli soldier takes a photograph as smoke and flames are seen after an Israeli Apache gunship helicopter crashed while shooting a missile towards the southern Lebanese border, hitting high voltage lines 24 July 2006, near Reychnia. The pilot and gunner were both killed. Israel lost three such gunships during 13 days of war against the Lebanese based Hezbollah guerrillas. Washington has come under increasing pressure for bold action amid criticism it is stalling to allow Israel time to attempt to wipe out Hezbollah, which set off the conflict after seizing two Israeli soldiers on July 12. it looks Israel has lost some APC or tank, the wounded soldiers are from armored vehicles, right?
Any info?
God bless those brave men
they use the Merkava tank to transport wonded men out of the battlefield. they take the wonded soldier out of the back door of the tank in a safe area (like the Israeli-Lebenese boarder), and transport him to a hospital from there.

Don't you really think that this approach is a bit too simplistic?
It reminds me of the diatribes all the Bush haters preach.
The central government in Lebanon was very weak.
We saw this in the Hariri assasination w.r.t to Syria.
Fifteen years of rebuilding Lebanon, ushering in democratic freedoms, removing Syria from it's occupation, the empowerment of minority anti-Hezbolla factions and the overall transformation of Beirut into the bastion of relative peace & tollerance in the Middle East has all been undone - in just under 15 days.

Following early problems (that copy/past thing) I started hosting images a couple weeks ago. They are all at imageshack. So, that cant be the problem, I gess... If anyone got any clues to resolving it, or else i'll just stop posting them because theres no much point if you cant see them

[quote=He219]Don't you really think that this approach is a bit too simplistic?
It reminds me of the diatribes all the Bush haters preach.
The central government in Lebanon was very weak.
We saw this in the Hariri assasination w.r.t to Syria.
Fifteen years of rebuilding Lebanon, ushering in democratic freedoms, removing Syria from it's occupation, the empowerment of minority anti-Hezbolla factions and the overall transformation of Beirut into the bastion of relative peace & tollerance in the Middle East has all been undone - in just under 15 days.
I wouldn't waste my breath He..Ignorance is bliss..he hasn't a clue whats going on..I spent 1½ years in south Lebanon as a UN Peace keeper and saw first hand their progress..The lebanese People do not deserve this..
He is comfortable sitting behind his computer judging and he hasn't a clue..

Maybe Lebanon will come to her senses and stop harboring those terrorist...until then, I fear more and more civilians will be killed. Hard to see, but that's the price you pay when your government is comprised of fvcking idiots.
And if you were Lebanese you would have expelled the Hezbollah.

Please gentlemen. Lets not squabble over this. Now the main problem is to stop the violence there and if all possible broker a ceasefire pact. But if the war is to drag on, we should continue giving supplies to the lebanese people and refugees and evacuate all foreign nationals (I know I'm saying somewhat a selfish thing).
I agree with HE. However, do you think Hezbollah will adhere to any sort of treaty or even take a NATO peace keeping force seriously?

Lebanese and UN soldiers search for bodies amidst the rubble of a residential building following an Israeli air strike in the southern city of Tyre 24 July 2006. Israeli troops were locked in bloody battles with Hezbollah guerrillas as they advanced deeper into Lebanon, reaching the outskirts of the border area's main town. A dozen Israeli soldiers, including a commander of an elite infantry battalion, were wounded in the fighting, an Israeli military spokesman said. epa00779941 Australian peacekeeping soldiers and federal police check dozens of pistols and rifles after returning back from the East Timorese Police and some civilians at a heliport in Dili, Monday 24 July 2006. East Timor newly installed Prime Minister Jose RamosHorta has offered a weapons amnesty to prevent a repeat of communal clashes which left 21 dead and displaced 150,000 two months ago.
