How well does this counter against RPG's???

I remember during the last Balkan wars 1990-1995 the Serbian army would attatch thick rubber mats to their tanks and apcs to counter "zolja's" (Yugo LAW's), Maljutka's and RPG's.

It seemed to work well!

I have read accounts of these vehicles surviving RPG hits because of the slat-armour. I have not heard of any being destroyed by RPG.

How did the crew in the vehicle make out?
How long was the vehicle down for?

From yesterday's pic thread:

A U.S. Army Stryker armoured vehicle blazes on a hillside road in the northern Iraq city of Mosul March 28, 2004 after it was hit by a rocket propelled grenade, which struck slat armour and then set a fuel can alight, according to the U.S. military. *******/Namir Noor-Eldeen

The crew made it out. The vehicle is a write-off ....

That tells me the armour does what it is supposed to do.
