Radio on the shoulder on the dude nearest the camera. Interesting, these
small radios can be bought (in pairs) for as little as $30 nowadays. And well,
technically they are as good as a old Swedish Ra-135 that I carried around,
the range is theoretically the same, and the battery lasts longer on the new "toy
radios".

The problem with those comercial radios is that they have no security and you are limited in the channels you can use. You probably never had to compete with locals for air-time on that "old" radio.

True, but the Ra135 is not secured either, so hm. You have to use code when
talking if the enemy is listening, so it really doesn´t have any advantage over
one of these commercial toy radios. And about the "competing with locals for
air-time", well most civilians use cellulars nowadays. With the Ra135, if used
near a highway then we could always get a lots of truckdrivers talking with
each other in the radio.

I would like to see these cheap civilians radios adapted for military use, simply
using military channels, and why not encrypted. I like the size, weight and prize.

Please , for the love of all creatures large and small STOP WITH THE ***** IMAGES !!!!! If you simply can't do it post your threads as " TODAY ***** IMAGES " Thanks :bash:
...and your problem with ***** Images is what again?

How about you just quit whining and figure on seeing them from now on since they are a great source of photos...unless you'd rather see fewer photos altogether. :cantbeli:
