It is still ugly, but it is only in early Prototype stage. It will have the typical HK look when it goes into production.

Anybody knows other semi-auto .300WM Rifles around?

Looking pretty aint nothin'... The only thing that matters is, can it kill? I'm sure this is what the professionals ask before they go into the field with do they not? I would think that they didn't give a **** about the color or design.

Was that a picture from the IWA expo in Germany this month?

Looks damn heavy.
A weak soldier like me could never carry one. ;)

Yes, it is from the IWA but I wasnt there.

The rifle closes the Gap between 7.62x51 and .50 BMG semi autos.

Many arm forces across the world deploy the 300win mag.

This would do really good on the U.S. civilian market. Too bad H&K is too moronic to notice that.

This ain't much better than a bolt gun in .300wm. No military is going to replace their bolt gun .300wms for this.

Hmm... Actually it closely resembles SAKO TRG 41/42 any more specific data about this HK one?

The rifle closes the Gap between 7.62x51 and .50 BMG semi autos.

Negative. .338 Lapau does that.

.300WM just allows the troop to carry more ammo and up the loads without fear of blowing the barrel. (not to mention cheaper than .338 and .50)

either the weapon is huge or that guy in the first pic must be a really small guy..

They will also develop 338 Lapua version I think.

Hmm... Actually it closely resembles SAKO TRG 41/42 any more specific data about this HK one?

I dont think so, the Sako is bolt action not semi auto. There is no further Info because of its prototype stage.

it'd look sensational with a thumb hole possibly

Helex - I forgot to mention that it resembles SAKO by means of shape of stock and frame. Not by mechanism ;-)

HK has a decent rifle on the US civillian market, as rob said. But not in 300wsm yet. Which they should. 300 wsm is a good hunting round up to medium game, and it is accurate at long range.

SLB2000

The SLB 2000 represents the ultimate achievement in the design and manufacture of a modern semi-automatic hunting rifle. By combining high strength materials with HK’s famous metallurgy, Heckler & Koch engineers have wedded the practical ergonomics of a modern high tech firearm with traditional rifle sophistication. The SLB 2000 uses a proven gas operating system that is extremely robust. And the exaggerated shape and angle of the pistol grip makes accurate shooting easier and more
natural than more traditional hunting rifles.
