I just recently got PS CS2, and I'm wondering what/where are the best free sources for good tutorials and stuff (besides messing around with it myself). Anybody recommend a specific website, forum, etc.??

What exactly do you want to do? If signatures, www.chaosgfx.com or www.gamerenders.com.
Also, try www.pixel2life.com. That thing's got everything you'll ever need.

I second www.pixel2life.com, they got tut's on just about every techinique you can do with photoshop. Messing around by yourself will only get you so far. I did that for about the first 6 months, and could barely make a sig. I started reading up on hundreds of tutorials covering various aspects of photoshop and since then have designed a website, several forum templates, made several hundred signatures for members of dozens of forums, and tons of headers and logos for other websites as well. It didn't even require that much effort, and I only treated it as a side-hobby. Sometimes an hour or two a day, sometimes once a week or less depending on my mood, would be spent doing photoshop stuff. Just start out small, avatars and especially sigs are a great way to master certain features. Then you can move on to headers, or animation if you want, and just go from there to bigger and more complex stuff. It's a fun program and a rewarding skill...just don't be afraid to keep practicing.

Check the sites above. Just don't get dependent on tutorials. Explore the program on your own after you familiarize yourself with it. You'll learn quicker and get better.
