A naval version of the Ju 87D was planned, designated the Ju 87E, and a few were made by converting several early model D's. The E was able to carry a torpedo.

The Ju87C was used in action during the Polish Campaign in 1939. There is a photo of a flying undercarriage-less Stuke, that german propaganda reported it had hit the water while pulling out of a dive. In fact it was a C model that had jettisoned its undercart, by means of explosive bolts. The pilot could do that in case he had to ditch a damaged navalised Stuka in the sea.
Back in July of 2003 I recall seeing in a news stand at Koln-Bonn Airport a german magazine that had articles about experimental navalised german aircraft, and I was stupid enough not to buy it.
Does anyone have it? If so, please scan and post the pics. It would be very interesting!

True a total of 115 aircraft were planned to be built. They were developped from the Ju 87D-4 test series and designated Ju 87E-1. However no more than a few test aircraft were built before the complete project was cancelled.

The Special Squadron that was would operate from the Graf Zeppelin was raised in December 1938. They squadron started off with regular Ju 87 aircraft for training. It wasn't until the summer of 1939 before the first converted Ju 87c-0 were delivered to unit 4./Trägergruppe 186. The conversion program was however cancelled when further delays of the Graf Zeppelin became clear. The only operational unit was redesignated as Stukagruppe 186 and in july 1940 added to III./StG 1.

If you were into models, or RC aircraft, this would be a really cool project.
