So I just got back from the store, just booted up my PC, opened up the box and popped in the installment CD-rom, only to discover.... No ... Sony Walkman...

So after restraining myself I call the store, I get their voicemail: Hold on the lines are busy.

When I finally get through, I tell him my problem and the guy says: That's not good.

I say: No.

He says: What model is it.

I say: NW-A1000

He goes: Hold on a minute.

Two minutes later(I timed it), he returns: Are you still there?

I go: Yeah

Do you have the invoice, who served you?

I want to say the girl who asked me what purpose I wanted to use my MP3 player for, the one I replied listen to music to. But I say: Maria Holm.

He: Just a sec, I'll go ask her.

after aproximately 180 seconds, he asks me if I'm still there. I say: Yes.

What color is it?

Blue.

Yes, we got it right here.

Oh.

I'm very sorry about it, you can't be every happy about an empty box.

A very expensive box.

He laughs.

I laught(I shouldn't have).

We're open till 8 or if it's bad for you, you can comepick it up tomorrow.

Tomorrow is best.

Again, I'm truely sorry about it. I'll put it asside and you can pick it up any time you want.

I'm not saying this could have happened to everyone, most experienced customers whould have checked the box in the store. But here's a question for you people persons out there, maybe with a little salesman inside, who's always able to bargain for a better price: Should I get a refund or torch the store tonight?

I would say something, complain a bit about your the inconvenience they caused you..they will probably give you a store credit or something for their f*ck-up..

Oh, maybe it is an MP3 player, guess that's the "new" walkman....I'm thinking back to the old days of the walkman, when it was the "uberleetpwnzor" CD player of the time, but it was terrible.

I made that mistake once - I bought a CD player that said it was an MP3 player too. Turns out that it just means that it will play MP3 CDs as well as normal CDs. :roll:

It's not a CD player alright, it's the cheap NW-A1000. ;) I'm pretty sure I know the difference. I was just slightly disappointed in finding the box empty, so I decided to write down my moody conversation with what turned out to be a polite store manager.

I did not mean to offend anyone, least of all signatory, who's recation leads me to believe his father is a Sony product retail manager himself. I just payed what probably ammounts to child laboror's salery for a decade, only to find the box empty. That's gotto annoy even a flower child like me.

yeah the Sony NW(Network Walkman) A-1000 is an MP3 Player.
I got the NW-E507 or something like that. It's pretty good and I haven't had a problem with it other than it only holds 1 GB. It has 50 hours of battery life. I like it a lot. Two Thumbs Up!

Just about to go pick it up.

As I learned yesterday that the reason for the missing walkman was that I bought the display model's box, I'd decided to ask for a compensation. I said it would be fair considering I had paid full price, crossing town twice, to collect what turned out to be the a display model to them to throw in a DVD or something. The guy who served me told me absolutely no, many people liked this model and they would have no problems selling it again. After I then asked to for a full refund, he got aggitated and said to a coworker that a I wanted to return it, because of the girl who sold me the thing was an idiot retard. I wasn't asking for an expensive compensation, just a small lign of customer service. He'd rather let the whole sale go back, than compensate me less than 10%. Plus slander a coworker loudly in front of other coworkers and a couple of customers.
