Just makes them look 'cooler' with their caps the wrong way round.

Ok, I agree. That's LL Cool J in the back. This movie will REALLY suck. And Colin Ferrel too? The Recruit was ok, Phone Booth a little better, and I don't think this one will help him that much. It's always about LAPD SWAT. From the picture of LL with the Benelli in his hands , I think they tried too hard getting the gear, and forgot they needed good people to fill it with. I can see already that they failed horribly on some of the gear.

I wish we had Michelle Rodriguez on our CMTT.
I thought she got killed after becoming a zombie? Did they bring her back or something???? Somebody clarify this for me!

Does anyone know if qualifications for SWAT teams are ***-blind? Or does this vary from department to department? (Just wondering because the other day I saw a female Special Response Unit member in NYC)...

No PDs (in DE at least) ban women from tactical teams. DSP SORT had a female on the team a few years back, I can't remember if she was a team member or an EMT. However no breaks are cut. Unlike the various academies which cut breaks for female recruits, there is no 'split time' when it comes to selections for the four tac teams in state. Everybody has to meet the same qualifications, same PT scores, so forth and so on. If you can hack it, welcome aboard.
I was being fuh-see-shus

Well she started out boxing but after the car accident in the desert she got into surfing after her rehab but that did not quite have the rush she needed so she joined a paramilitary outfit that went into the hive where her thirst for adventure met with ill-fate. Hopefully Ms Rodriguez will have better luck in the future.

It depends on the police force. Here in Toronto the Emergency Task Force(ETF) had one female member. That was about 6-7 years ago, don't know about now.

Has anyone read the book called "She Who Dared", or the book "The Operators"? They described the operations of the 14th Intelligence Company <sic?> in Northern Ireland. Not quite SWAT, of course, but a good illustration of how women can operate effectively in a counter-terrorism environment.
There are women in the fire service all over the world. As far as I'm concerned, if women can pull people out of burning buildings, they have the requisite mental and physical strength for Special Ops.

ogukuo72, I tend to agree with you, but brace yourself for a rehash of the "girls don't belong in combat" thread. A lot of traditionalists aren't trying to hear that noise.
