Same thing.

"Hitler was given a chance to test fire the MP44, he was impressed and gave it the title Sturmgewehr. Seeing the possibility of a propaganda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda) win, the rifle was again renamed as the StG44.."

That is a total myth - it was the Generals who convinced Speer to re-name it "Sturmgewehr" (assualt rifle) instead of its orginal designation of Maschinen-Pistole (sub-machine gun) so that Hitler would authorise its production when it came up in discussions about war production.

Its not a photoshop that picture is from a test that the germans were carring
out to see how effective the compination was and if I remember correctly it gave poor results.I seen several collectors who have the gun and the scope.

You're just calling it a photoshop because you don't have anything else to say.:|

I said it because I felt people were being pulled into a waah.

Optical scopes on assault rifles were not common during the fifties or sixties so I find it strange that they would have been around in the fourties.

if I had nothing to say, i wouldnt have said anything. Its the advantage of cynicism and intellect.

AFAIK thats the modification MP43/1 with ZF-4 scope. (It was also possibly to shoot grenades with a attachment.)

It was also possible to mount the Night-Vision-Sight "Vampir" on it.

It's definitely a real picture. They were trialled towards the end of the war.

Here's the same soldier with a scoped G43:

The two photos were taken at the sniper training facility at Doberitz, Elsgrund.

Yup..Both are also in the book German Sniper 1914-1945 by Peter Senich..They even have pics of G43 that take Mp44 mags and have Zeiss scopes..No photo shop there!
