I'm looking for a reliable source to download AA, I've not played it before and thought I'd give it a go.
Any help would be much appreciated, and yes I used the search function;)

I did, I've been through about a dozen of the download sites, they either take 6hrs to download or want you to register.
I did download from the first one but it came up with an error once I tried to run it.

It's probably been a year since I've played that game, but everytime I downloaded, I did from gigex.com , they were always quick.

Many of those sites have diffrent mirrors you shoud experiment with them a bit sometimes closest mirror isn't the fastest one.

A lot of people think that the next patch will come out on Aug. 18th because the new map is snakeplain...

been playing AA since 1.2 p-) howeve due to my fear of public servers i'm still a 16 honour player! every time i frequent honour serves theres sombody cursing team killing or some other hoo ha that i'd rather ignore.

Usernames joshfox0 i thinks usually on bridge aswell :D classic map

I was playing within 72 hours of the release of the first version of AA. Why 72 hours? Thats how long it took to DL (Actually probably only about 30 hours but it got corrupted the first try and there were other complications) on dialup, had to pull some strings with my parents to keep the phoneline for that long.

But I havent been the most dedicated player to AA throughout its life, mostly got back into it after 2.0 though and now Im a 66. Still its only a secondary or tertiary game for me. Looking forward to that sweet coop though.

72hours? It took me about 13hours to download it on 56k connection when it first came out. Took me a few weeks to get the bugs out though. I stopped playing at 2.0.0...according to my screenshots. I just got back into now.

I found a reliable download source, only took me 8hrs on wireless:(. So I should be up and running over the next couple of days, see what's what and all that.

It didnt take me a full 72 I said that it was less than that but there were complications. I also said within 72 hours, I was probably playing in less than 48 hours but that was a long time ago so I made the range wider. I was also outside the city so I didnt see much better speeds than I would have had I been using a 33.6kbps modem.


Anyone up for some bridge???

Bridge is probably the worst map in the entire game, its so incredibly linear I cant believe it is as popular as it is - especially here.

I used to play Insurgent Camp and Weapons Cache. Then there was that one clan that would blatantly cheat on WC, so I stopped playing that.

What kind of cheating? What clan, this isnt the AA Forums you can give names. Blasted AA forum nazis...

I still wouldnt give up on a particular map just because one group was cheating, I would have given up on pretty much every map if that was the case.

This was back in the 2.0.0 days...thats why I havent played since then. Too many damn cheaters. I remember I got linked to a thread in AA forum about the clan. The clan members were saying that cheating is not bad and blah blah blah...its just a game and that they're having fun and ****. I've been in the same servers playing against and with them before. It was pretty lame.
