A man working at a church northwest of Stockholm has been remanded in custody for a very, very unsavoury deed.
The man, who is in his 40s and who was working at the church as a security guard, was arrested by police on suspicion of opening a coffin and having *** with a female corpse.

"I am shocked," said a priest in the parish, according to Expressen.
A week ago, police detained the man after they found an open coffin awaiting burial in the church's crypt. Near the unlocked coffin police found empty beer cans.
"The lock was off and the body was lying in a position it should not be in," said an unnamed police officer to Expressen. "We suspect that the guard has assaulted the dead woman."
The man is being held for breaking burial laws and could face to up to two years in jail.

No you can't commit a crime against a dead person but it is a crime to move/assault/harm a corpse. So that's his only crime in that sense, I suppose they could add other charges too but not related to the corpse/act itself.
Can't move a dead body, can't shoot someone who is already dead, can't rob a dead person.. can't play with ashes... etc

A church warden in a small Swedish town on Monday faced criminal charges after allegedly having *** with a corpse at a church where he worked, a prosecutor said.
The warden was accused of removing a woman's body from her coffin before performing ****** acts on the corpse on the night of August 3, according to the prosecutor's charge sheet submitted to Västerås district court and a copy of which was obtained by AFP.
He was charged with "disturbing the peace of the dead".
The 43-year-old man confessed to police and said that he also had with another dead woman, but the second incident has not been fully investigated, Swedish news agency TT reported.
He explained his actions by saying he was unable to meet women, TT said.
The man also confessed to charges of drunk driving, four counts of theft and two counts of arson. The first of the fires, set in August 1998, completely destroyed Surahammar church, 80 miles (130 kilometres) west of Stockholm.
His trial was scheduled to start on October 4. AFP

A 43-year old church warden in Sweden has been sent to a secure mental hospital after he was convicted of having *** with the body of a dead woman at a church west of Stockholm.
The man admitted that he had violated the corpse at the church in Surhammar in Västmanland. A psychiatric examination showed that he had serious psychiatric problems, meaning that sending him to hospital was the only course open to the court. The man was convicted of 'disturbing the peace of the dead.'
The verdict was delivered a few hours after counsel for the prosecution and defence had made their closing arguments. Prosecutor Eva Morén told the court that the man should have been sentenced to a long prison sentence if he had not been suffering from a serious psychiatric disturbance.
The man had also been convicted of burning down the old Surhammar church in 1998, and for several other cases of theft, arson and drink driving.
