Another one my threads to learn more about our friends across the pond.
What the hell is Baloney? I know it's a sandwich meat, like Luncheon Meat, Garlic Sausage, Salami etc, but what does it taste like? Am I right in thinking it's kind of like Saveloy? Please tell me!
:P
like they'll know savaloy

Germans have similar meat products as bologna. I haven't been there for a while but I remember a lot of similar meats. Maybe some of your Deutche friends can describe those. It is technically a sausage but is really an over processed garbage product.

Arggg Frikadellen! I've eaten a few of those, basically kind of like a burger with little or no taste ;).
As for baloney, I always thought it was some kind of spicey sausage meat?
While im here I'll add some of the usual UK/US differences......:
UK US
Chips Fries
Crisps Potatoe Chips
Cold Drink Glass Full of Ice

lol, maybe its just because I bought them at the nearby Lidl
Maybe you prepared them in the wrong way? :)
ShadowNeo

lol, thats probably why :D.
My preparation:
1) Rip out of packet
2) Slam in microwave
3) Wait for 2 minutes
4) Munch

I either eat them cold or stick 'em in the microwave as instructed on the packet. :)
Will have to see if my Dad will give me a lift back over to Germany so I can get some proper ones again... Or to the Makro on the other side of town. :D
I miss Germany *Cries.* :(...
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
Of course they taste like **** from a microwave, you're not supposed to eat them from a ****ing microwave!
You just do the same thing as with chips; throw 'em in the fat...
(Note: are we talking about the same 'frikandellen'? :D)

No deep fat fryer in this house any more :(. And using a basic frying pan is to much work. ;)

Seeing as north of the border its possible to get battered Mars Bars, I could probably try to deep-fry one sometime  .

Balony is used (around here) as seagull bait. Those stupid birds come swooping down to steal it, and you've got 'em. Good way to get feathers for the tarring and feathering ceremonies....

I think he's talking about bologna, in which case he would be right. That stuff is gross. I prefer salami.
