Here are 2 identical scope mounts.
The lighter colored one is the PRI USA mount, while the darker one is the Wilcox Industries mount. Both are for Aimpoint Comp red dot scopes.

Height:
Both=Extra High

Texture:
PRI=Rough, very matte
Wilcox=Smooth, somewhat shiny

Color:
PRI=Grey
Wilcox=Black

Weight:
I don't have a measuring device, but the Wilcox feels 60-80% lighter.

Sorry, there's nothing left that I can tell about the two, since most can just be just observed.

what happens when the scope fails for whatever reason and you want to go to back up iron sights? you going to pull out a specific wrench? that'll take some time...
quick release is the way to go. for an aimpoint mount you want a larue.

Thats why you have a co-witness setup.

there are many types of failures, not just the battery crapping out. if the the glass is damaged/covered in crud you won't be able to see the front sight post.

no matter, he won't be co-witnessing with either of those mounts - they're both extra high.

my point is that quick release is the way to go.

Does those mounts allow to see through?
