Found the round, not the weapon. Someone on another website mentioned that ROBOCOP used a SCAMP. I think they're wrong, but they are a little similar.

If my fading memory recalls correctly, Robocop had a converted Berretta 93R machine pistol tricked up to look futuristic. Nice job on finding a pic of the rounds the SCAMP fired, however.
Marks' pic is a pretty close match to the ...err..photo that was initially posted. (1st "photo" must have been shot on a kodak box brownie, or maybe the lens was dirty....looked kinda,er, hand drawn to my eyes.)
I, too, am flabberghasted the REMOV man needs a pic of a firearm. Pigs will fly, next. oh, wait, there's already one posted in today's pics for April 1st by He219.
D'oh!
There are no actual images of this gun.

The Robocop gun is an odd one, its described as an M93 'Auto9', but whether its a genuine firearm or just a movie-armourer's barrel-shrouded wet dream, I've never been sure.

Robodope's "firearm" ( :P ) is a modded Beretta 93R(ie they glued on **** to make it look "futuristic" and bigger).
Maybe its just a customized Beretta of another model (example, the M951 is available in an automatic variant), but it is a Beretta.
I think they should have put the holster into the groin, not his leg, just for effect.
-edit-
Dangnabit, I gotta learn reading through the thread before posting sh1t... :|

Possibly BS from http://www.pmulcahy.100megs3.com/pistols/us_pistols_a-f.htm
"Colt SCAMP
Notes: This weapon was designed in the late 1960s for use by both covert personnel and by aircrews. The SCAMP (Small CAliber Machine Pistol) uses a round designed especially for it, and uses a three-round burst mechanism to reduce recoil and barrel climb (as well as wasteful ammunition use). Though a lot of research and testing was done, the design was dropped by the Department of Defense for reasons never disclosed, and only 12 prototypes were ever built. It is presented here as an interesting "what if."

Possibly BS from http://www.pmulcahy.100megs3.com/pistols/us_pistols_a-f.htmNope, this guy - Paul Mulcahy is a Twilight:2000 (its a RPG game, 3rd World War... in Poland) lover and most of his descriptions comes from Jane's, so they are more or less reliable. AFAIK this drawing someone posted also comes from Twilight:2000 (or other RPG game book or Palladium's compendium), but I'm still looking for a picture (i.e. photo) ;)

Dont want to beat the robocop thing anymore but:
Says he had a Colt SCAMP:
"His no-holds-barred, letter-of-the-law tactics are as brutal as they need to be, and no more, and his armor shell, Colt Scamp Machine Pistol and advanced computer targeting systems give him a decided edge on the streets."

Yes, I think we all knew the M93 was a real Beretta, but I have a nagging feeling that this 'Auto 9' variant might be a real gun...
[Edit - after taking some *ahem* time off work it seems that it is a real gun, but only in the sense that armourers made at least one for the movie. So yes, wet dream it is! Sorry to perpetuate the highjack of this thread!]
StealthMode, it's blatantly a Beretta Model 93R, definitely not a Colt of any kind. You have to question everything you see on the internet; a lot of fan fiction writers for example who don't care too much about firearms will simply pick a gun name from a book or other source and use it regardless of accuracy and relevance. More likely in this case the site maker looked online for a gun that looked like what (s)he remembered from the movie and saw a picture like that of the SCAMP. Research is a dying skill it seems.

The article contains errors. So what. :)
The gun in Robocop is not a SCAMP. The End.

And no i dont question everything I see on the internet. :bash:
And because I post some stupid thing like that, doesnt elude that "Research is a dying skill" :bash:
Your comments are a little excessive after the fact.
Feel free to prove me wrong whenever you like, and Robocop topics arent my bag. Ill be sure to only respond to extremly serious and important topics from now on (if such a thing). ;)

I think the "research being a dying skill" was directed at the writer of the article you linked to, not yourself. ;)

Mate, as this guy realised, you've totally misread my post. I know the web is full of losers who love to rub people's faces in it when they're wrong about something trivial but trust me, I'm not one of those people.
So kindly stop hitting me with smiley sticks :)
