One of the hotest issues in the recent war in Lebanon, but also in the never ending conflict in Gaza and on the Westbank is how journalists report the different events.
One very important tool when reporting is the use of photos.
I have collected a few, both from Lebanon and at Gaza. What I find interesting is the artistic angle on some of the photos. Even of those that might put IDF in a negative ligth, it seems like the photographer try to make it look like a piece of art.

Here is a few samples:

(I have based on my own opinion sorted them in three different categories, Positive, Neutral and Negative.)

Negative:

Photo of Palestinians rounded up in Jericho. Never nice to see "civilians" like this. But even though the photo can be seemed as negative, it has nice light and a soft atmosphereic aura. (Yes, I do see one of them wearing camo.)

A tired Israeli soldier somewhere inside of Lebanon. This photo was in an article that told us that things did not go as planned for IDF and that they had met harder resistance than first expected.

I was not sure how to classify this, but finally decided for negative. Here you see the power of the IDF and what they are capable of sending in to Lebanon. But again, it is actually a "beautiful" photo of the power of the IDF.

Neutral:

Israeli soldier returned to Israel after missions inside of Lebanon.

Artistic photo, seems like the photographer and later, the newspaper using this ius looking for photos that has a more entertaining, rather than an informative point of view.

Again, a powerful photo about the might behind artillery, and with an artistic approach.

An informative photo, but also a lucky shot.It shows yet again the mighty IDF and standing beside the howitzer a calm soldier doing his job.
(I wonder how many pics he took so he could have that one?)

Same as over, but with a more artistic touch. Seems like the photographer have use some sort of filter to get the nice light.

From Gaza, nightshot. Can't go wrong with nightshots.

Build up of force outside of Gaza.

Not sure where this is taken, probably Gaza. Cant be more neutral than this.

Israelis pulling out of Lebanon.

Can't say much about this, except that it is a nice photo.

Positive:

http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/5263/libanonman2280xi9.jpg

Israeli tanker relaxes between operations.

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3318/israel2xoppslaggj7.jpg

Classic "shadow and light"-photo.

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2443/dreptisrael2858fz3.jpg

Israeli soldier relaxes on top of his M-109. If you didn't know it was from a war, it could look staged to get an artistic view.

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7168/soldater2858gu8.jpg

Happy Israeli soldiers with a captured Hizbollah-flag. Can life be better?

If I have a favourite photo, it must be this. It is taken in Gaza a few months ago and really show the length the photographer goes to get his picture.
Even though they are about to deliver death, the photos is like a gem in its beauty.

Some really good pics there, thx! Incidentally, i read yesterday that the israelis fired more than 140 000 artillery rounds during the recent fighting.. I didn't realize it was THAT intense, until i read that.

Great set of photos. I noticed the same thing with some photos out of the early stages of OIF, where the tv generals were saying we were doing badly and they'd show pictures of tired soldiers. The next day Baghdad was being overrun by US troops. :)

this is the tank of Gilad Shalit - the captured Israeli soldier on the day of the attack.
you can see his and some of the killed crew members' equipment right next to the tank. (the tank commander and the loader were shot from close range and killed when they evacuated the tank through the back door after the fire extinguishment system was activated).
the army was able to determine he's injured in his stumech and shoulder by his combat vest that was taken off of him and left behind.

I know you don't like me, but here's another artistic photo, though I think it was taken in training:
