I noticed that some M Frames have a clip in the middle of the frame to clip onto lenses. Are the models with the clip old versions?

From what I know, the ones with a small tab (clip) non the frame are the military series. The tab is here to retain better the lens, it connect in a small hole.

Interesting...I see some of the SI ones without the clip aswell.

Those are the new clips that the military issue ones have on them. It's supposed to help retain the lense. Seems a bit over-redundant, and makes the lenses harder to interchange.

They had to put them in to help support the lenses, because the commercial versions don't meet the DOD's standard on eye protection.
