I loved that movie! It was about a modern U.S. Navy carrier battle group that got transported back through time right before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. The Navy guys were like-hmmm. . . should we help or not? Because it would change future events.

Interesting to find this posted as I just started watching a Japanese anime called "zipang" where a japanese Aegis class escort gets teleported back in time to the battle of Midway. Loved watching The Final Countdown for its concept though.

Yeah, only too bad they didnt shoot the whole Pearl Harbour attack fleet out of the water and skies... That would have been fun to watch...

However the tomcat that gets hit by a Zero fighter is very unbelievable. But then again its a movie offcourse.

Oooh...The Final Countdown. Only movie I ever bought two copies of, if I should lose the first. Heh. This is THE movie that made me fell in love with the Tomcats. BEAUTIFUL footages af those great birds.

It's on DVD you know. I remember seeing that flick in the theatre when I was in 3rd grade. I wasn;t as cool as the kids smoking cigarettes in the back though ;(
