A man of peace and dignity. We will overcome these mullahs just like we overcame 200 years of arab occupation... i will vote for a constitutional monarchy because i respect the history of iran and want iran free and proud. The overthrow of the Shah was the greatest middle eastern catastrophe of the 20th century.God rest his soul.

I highly doubt that a Consititutional Monarchy will ever return to Iran. One should ask with all of the reforms that the Shah had done, why did he get overthown so easily?
I think it was a tragic mistake to overthow a democratically elected government of Mohammed Mossadegh in the 1950's. If the Shah, the Americans led by Norman Swartzkof Sr., and the Brits kept out of Iran during that time, we would have a different Iran today much akin to that of Turkey.
Lesson learned: If the Americans start to change a government in Iran today, it may end up being worst than it is today.
BTW, does the Peacock Thone still exist?

While I appreciate your OPINION, and that's what it is, opinion..... you need to understand that you are being perceived on this forum as guilty of blind idolatry.
The Shah, like many leaders past and present, was a disaster.
I could go on for quite some time about the Shah's having bugged out( not once, but twice) when things got out of control, a clear sign of a piss poor and weak leader.
I could also go on about how the Shah WAS a puppet of the West by putting Western interests BEFORE the interests of his own people, and being seemingly ignorant or uncaring about his people's plight choosing to create an organization like SAVAK to maintain control rather than earning it.
I could also go on about how IF the Shah HAD been an effective leader and cowboy'd up to his nation's problems by NOT letting idiots like the Ayatollah gain power Iran wouldn't have wasted so many years and wouldn't have been targeted by Iraq leading to millions of casualties and a trillion dollars wasted.
I could argue that IF the Shah were half the leader you seem to think he WAS, Iran would be THE dominant and stable force binding the Middel East together today.....but he wasn't....he was just an ordinary below-average schmuck in WAY over his head.
Could I be wrong?
Possibly.....but I think it's safe to say MY perception of the Shah would be a lot more accurate and balanced than YOURS.
STOP the Shah propoganda NOW.
And that goes for his son as well.
I think everyone's tired of it.
Start showing some BALANCE or you will start getting demerit points.

You have no idea what his plans were.He literally had a knife to his back when he was put in power which was held by the Americans and British.Had he risen up while we were still weak we would of been invaded. He was building Iran into a strong and powerful country. That one day would of been able to rise and face any Western opponent face to face in a battlefield.Much like the Japanese did against the Americans. She waited when she was strong and then struck back.
I suggest you read this

The Shah was not overthrown by the people as many belive. They received help from the West.Khomeini was in a loft in France incase Shah tried to rise up.When our secret nuclear program was found out BBC radio and other western orginazitations started spreading the revolution till it back fired and ended up there own citizens being taken captive by the students.

The shah of iran was a great king, who loved our country iran.1963 he began the white revolution, giving iranian women the full rights equal to men, he finished the feudal syastem in iran and made the land reform. god bless him. Modernazation of iran was his biggest mistake in the eyes of fundamentalists and leftists. leftists are stil telling lies about him, but i know they are just puppets manipulated by mass media war against his imperial majesty the crowned father of iran. JAVID SHAH
He was a totalitrian ruler who was a pain in the rear for the whole middle east. The dude was a copy of Tony Blair and a 1000 murders on his hands. The US threw the stick and he ran to fetch it.

We had to at that time.We were weak but Shah brought Iran into the modern era.We were the biggest US arms buyer in the 70's massing a massive army that some day would give us the power to free ourselves.

I don't see what purpose this serves. You may as well go on and on about John Lennon, Gandhi or FDR - no matter how great you think they were - the fact that they are dead will limit their ability to actually do anything.
Iran needs help for sure - but appointing a messiah/king is just about as bad as an insane theocracy. The ones who need to hold power in Iran are the people, not something/someone floating above them.
