Hi there! I was looking for good pics or websites with more accurate info for build an A-Frame. The same A-Frame which SAS used in jungle in Immediate Action (Andy McNab).
McNab didn't write where/how to put the insects net/poncho or how to do an extesion for the bergen.

Sorry if this is an old discussed question, I did a search and found nothing.
I tryed to google it but this is the only thing that I found useful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-frame

Thanks!

A-FRAME SHELTER
This is my personal favourite. The beauty of it is that it can be put up quickly but is strong enough to stay up a long time. Not only that, but it can be custimized for comfort and convenience.

The main components are the four main uprights, the roof beam, and the for rails.

Lash the four uprights to make two upside down Vs and join them across the top with a roof beam. Lash the rails at the right height for your sleeping platform. If you've got the right sort of poncho, you can thread the side rails through the poncho's side to make your bed. Otherwise, lay smaller branches across. Tie sheeting over the roof, or use leafes, branches and othr natural materials.

By making sure the side rails extend out at the front and back, you can make a little table. By adding a lower rail at the side, you've got somewhere to rest your feet."

Quoted from Chris Ryan's Survival Guide. Sorry about the picture quality, I was copying from the book on my lap so there maybe small typing errors. I'll look through my other titles for any related info later.

Yeah, I got his "SAS Survival Handbook" and I love it! Its got so much info in there! I'd recommend it to anyone, I look at mine as a "Survival Bible"!

Yeah I used to call it my bible, for the survival instructor to someone who only does day hikes its a good book... agreed.
