AdvertisementThe Indonesian Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir has claimed that the CIA was involved in the 2002 Bali bombings.

Bashir, who was convicted and jailed for having prior knowledge of the attacks which killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, was released from prison in June after serving nearly two years.

On ABC TV's Foreign Correspondent last night, Bashir said the device that killed most people in the attack was a CIA "micro-nuclear" bomb.

"So the bomb that killed so many Australians, it was an American bomb. It wasn't the bomb made by Amrozi and his friends," he said. Amrozi, Ali Ghufron and Imam Samudra are awaiting execution for their part in the plot.

Bashir conceded the bombers' actions might have been "misguided".

"They followed the path of jihad to defend Islam and Muslims," he said.

Of course not, the highly advanced zionist neocon crusader nuclear device can break the rules of physics and explode without a nuclear chain reaction !

Can anyone list the reasons why those of us in America want to blow up so many Australians?

I mean, I can think of a couple reasons (#1 Steve Irwin, #2 uh, something else...)... but really, why did we conspire to blow up Aussies in Bali? To make Muslims like Bashir look bad?

"They followed the path of jihad to defend Islam and Muslims"
With friends like these, who needs enemas?

I especially enjoyed this:

"But it would be impossible to go to Australia because if I went there I would be arrested and slandered by the Australian government. The Australian government still treats me like an enemy for reasons that are unclear. "

Prior knowledge of an event which killed 202 screams "COMPLICIT!" in my book.

Indonesian Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir claims America's top spy agency was involved in the devastating 2002 Bali bombings.
Bashir, who was convicted and imprisoned for having prior knowledge of the attacks which killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, is also appealing for the lives of three convicted bombers to be spared.
Bashir, the spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiah (JI), was released from prison in June after serving nearly two years.
Amrozi, Ali Ghufron - also known as Mukhlas - and Imam Samudra are awaiting execution for their part in the plot.
In an interview tonight on ABC television's Foreign Correspondent, Bashir claims the device that killed most people in the Bali attack was a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) "micro-nuclear" bomb.
"The micro-nuclear bomb that did so much damage was a CIA bomb, not Amrozi's bomb," Bashir told the ABC.
"The Bali bombing was actually masterminded by America. Well, not masterminded, but hijacked. They planned it, but their plan was hijacked by America."
"So the bomb that killed so many Australians, it was an American bomb. It wasn't the bomb made by Amrozi and his friends."
Bashir defended the Bali bombers, but conceded their actions may have been "misguided".
"Actually, they (the bombers) are not terrorists. America is the terrorist. They are not terrorists. They followed the path of jihad to defend Islam and Muslims. Perhaps their actions were misguided," Bashir said.
"Secondly, it was unfair of the court to sentence them to death because their bomb would not have killed people, only injured them. It was a CIA bomb that killed people."
Bashir also attacked the Australian government, saying it wrongly continued to hound him and treat him as an enemy.
He said Indonesia had placed no travel restrictions on him and he was free to go where he wanted.
"It's the Australian government that makes every effort to ensure I continue to be hounded. So in Indonesia there are no restrictions on me travelling overseas. I'm allowed to go anywhere I want to.
"But it would be impossible to go to Australia because if I went there I would be arrested and slandered by the Australian government. The Australian government still treats me like an enemy for reasons that are unclear. "

The Aussie government needs to grow some balls when it comes to dealing with the Indonesians, we can't keep on going on like this. Kill the bombers, they clearly deserve it no matter how misguided they were, they are still unfit to live in society. Bashir deserves wayyyyy more punishment than he has recieved, he knew about the bombings before hand and supported them. Now he's trying to turn the situation into another 9/11 conspiracy? We clearly don't need him around ****ting out of his mouth.

Yep. Micro nuclear bombs, about half the size of a cheap ball point pen. The technology to produce these babies took years to perfect, but with the untiring help of our German scientists, we finally got it right in the mid-90s. For years we produced them under the cover of a suppositories factory in New Jersey. The problem was at the policy making level. The big guys just couldn't decide the protocol for targetting and release.
Then came the Global War on Terror. A micro nuclear device, with yields at the sub-atomic level and a fairly limited blast area with minimal traces of residual radiation, seemed an ideal means of striking back at the terrs. But how to deliver them?
A former member of James Jesus Angleton's counter-intelligence group in Langley came up with a recommendation that was accepted and has been jealously guarded until now.
The perfect means of delivering the devices was to rectally implant them in captured terrorists at Guantanamo and other more secret facilities. The terrs were drugged, implanted and given a posthypnotic suggestion to make them think the minor pain they were experiencing was the result of a wild night out with the boys prior to their capture. Several implant operations were carried out, and those prisoners released "under political pressure" to make their way back home.
The problem was that several months into the program, after at least three dozen implants had been made and those "couriers" released, someone realized there were problems with the device firing mechanism. Originally envisoned for command detonation (this was shelved after legal opinions about proportionality) program scientists had continually modified the mechanism until no one was really sure what would make one detonate. "It could be almost anything, depending on the individual's chemisty. Our best guess is it's diet-related. A really good curry could do it. Maybe even a highly sulfuric fart."
The question Mr. Bashir should be asking himself: When will HIS ass explode?

WOW! Are all that true?

And if a device half the size of a cheap ball pen could do so much damage I think it'd be better to make one half the size of a paper clip (MI-3 comes to mind).

Micro nuclear bomb orly i guess he don't know that smallest theoreticaly possible nuclear device would destroy few buildings and would be completly impractical for any purposes due to material used in construction that has very short decay rate.

Yep. But you know what, once ideas like that gets thrown into the wind people will find a way to make it possible.

Hypothetically, a device that small could only take out the courrier ... So if you were talking to him and someone fires the device he'd literally go SPLAT right in front of you and his entrails scattered in different directions.

Scary...

Read more carefully. The terr is drugged and THEN implanted, and when he wakes up he's convinced it was just a little harmless fun with his fellow jihadists. What would he have to complain about?

Aussies have to thread carefully on handling the Indons. Don't forget that they have the largest muslim population and are largely poor, uneducated and can easily gravitate towards radical Islam. The sea passage into Australia is comparatively easier compared to UK or USA. If the radical Islam takes hold in Indon, terrorism will come to your backyards.

I'm already very impressed with some of the hardlines that the Australian government had taken like the recent message by PM Howard on the need for immigrants to assimilate. I know that the Australians are known to be tough and robust. I hate to think that one day it'll be humbled with a terror event. USA, Uk and Australia are strong alliances in the WOT. Aust is the only one which the terrorists have not succeeded in attacking. Let's hope it stays that way.

Apparently being developed to destroy chemical and biological weapons sites without releasing toxins.

Why the hell we need so many of them hasn't been explained yet.

Incidentally, I do not believe Bali was a nuclear weapon. I mean, if it was, there should be a lot of Balinese blinded by the flash alone.
