They are bad ass troops man. Heard a lot about them from a german friend in the Bundeswher. One hell of a paratrooper unit. Was formed in WWII.
My father was attached with the bundeswehr for a 2 years to do his company comander course. from what i can see in the pictures shows that Back in 91 their equip was not exactly impressive. BUT NOW ITS A WOW!!!

These Videos are from Kinsasha.
They are on "Stand-By" in Gabon, and incase it gets "too hot" they get deployed to Kinsasha. And after the recent shootouts between the Congolese "private armies" of the different parties they got deployed to Kinshasa. I think right now they are back in Gabon again. (Properbly get deployed again when the winner of the election is announced.)

Blimey! i can't believe that trouble is STILL going on!:| i was deployed first to Gabon, then Brazzaville in Congo then to Kinsaha (capital of the then called "Ziare") in '97. Seem to remember a few US/GB Marines there too! I think that rumble will go on for a loooonnnggggg time yet!:fork:

Great to see quite some IDZ elements in deployment already. Didn't see any Dynarange sights on the Pzf 3s, but it is probably a low priority given the enviroment.

By the way, bad Fallis, wearing magazines on the foldable stock of the G36...
I'm curious, everybody always says fitting a magazine pouch on the right side of the skeleton folding stock (which folds to the left) is a bad practice. The reason given is that the gun will not function properly if shooting in the folded position due to the ejection port being blocked. I do believe that this will cause problems, and I wouldn't advocate magazine pouches there, but did anyone ever fire a G36 in such a way?

I wasn't referring to shooting with the stock folded, but with the stock folded while having a magazine pouch fixed to the right sight of the stock, so that when you fold the stock, it blocks the ejection port somewhat. I know there is a small space left between the port and the pouch, but I'm curious wether the brass will accumulate in that space, will drop out, our will immediately cause a jam.

That doesn't work. Why would you shoot the rifle with the stock folded anyways? I would only do that in MOUT, and if he knew he had to enter a building, he would certainly take the mag-pouch off (ih he intended to shoot te rifle with the stock folded).

Granted, it is against all training. Still, I'm curious.

And even if the stock is not folded, MOUT is still possible - as anyone who was trained with the G3 will know... ;)

The reason is quite simple. In the camps, weapons usually have to be unloaded, still you have to take a mag with you. So you just attach it to the gun. I doubt many soldiers would do so outside the camps, as it really hampers the gun handling, especially shooting with the stock folded.

, especially shooting with the stock folded.
which you do... how often ?
apart from reflex shooting I dont see a circumstance when you want to shoot without the unfolded stock

Übungsfahrt durch Gabun der deutschen Fallschirmjäger. (Quelle Pressestelle Gabun)
Libreville/ Gabun, 11.09.2006, Pressestelle Gabun.

I'll try:
Übungsfahrt durch Gabun der deutschen Fallschirmjäger. (Quelle Pressestelle Gabun)
Libreville/ Gabun, 11.09.2006, Pressestelle Gabun.
Under hot sun or in pouring rain, the soldiers of the German contingent of EUFOR RD CONGO keep themselves ready/fit for possible missions in the congolese capital Kinshasa.
The paras of the 2nd platoon, 2nd company of para-btl 263 from Zweibrücken have different training-sections on their schedule. Advancing in urban terrain, medic training, trainingwith the system "infantryman of the future".
The cooperation with the Dutch infantrymen, which are attached as 3rd platoon to the German copmany, is very good. "Ammunition as well as communication-equipment are compatible and, due to the good German language skills of most of the Dutch soldiers, there is no language barrier", a German Master sergeant emphasizes.

A humble attempt by me.
Training-drive of the German Fallschirmjäger through Gabun.
file:///C:/DOKUME%7E1/HANSWU%7E1/LOKALE%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg
Libreville/ Gabun, 11.09.2006, Pressestelle Gabun.
Under glowing sun or in heavy rain, the soldiers of Task Force 2 of the German Contingent EUFOR RD CONGO train for a possible assignment in the Congolese capitol Kinshasa.
The Fallschirmjäger of the 2. platoon, 2. company of the Fallschirmjägerbattaillon 263 from Zweibrücken train in various fields. From combat in urban areas and medical-education to familiarisation to the new "infantryman of the future"-system.
The collaboration with Dutch infantrymen, who have been integrated as the 3. platoon into the German company, works very well.
"The ammunition and the communication-devices are compatible and since the Dutch speak very good German, there are no barriers in language whatsoever" as a German master-sergeant (?) points out.
Edit: Damn, Seventy6er was (much) faster.
