As I recall the story, it's not new, this is a suspected suicide bomber, apprehended in Jerusalem. Allegedly his has a bomb strapped on the chest, and tries to set it off by rubbing it against the ground. He is then shot.

From the pictures you can't make out if there really is a bomb or not. This is often a problem with footage from the conflict that you can't from the picture verify wheter they really show what thay are claimed to show.

A famous one is where an ambulance is stopped at a checkpoint. The IDF claimed it contained a bomb. But what you see is the EOD robot approaching the ambulance, then then the footage it clips to a picture of the robot holding what could be a bomb. And finally the explosives is disposed of by detonating it, but what you see is the ambulance being blown up. Did they put the bomb back in?

Wheter or not the palestinian seen in the pictures is a terrorist would depend on his target. If it were civilians yes. If soldiers or security personel, no.

In the territories people have been shot for just getting too close to Israeli positions. I think walking up to them with a big bomb under your shirt, will only get yourself killed. And at the chechkpoints you would risk blowing up your own women and children.

In contrast inside Israel, military personel can't just start shooting at people for getting to close. So in that way the chances of a succesfull attack increases. And there have in the past, been examples of Israeli uniformed personel being killed by suicide bombers inside Israel proper.

.I don’t know which incident you are talking about and perhaps a link to that would be nice for I remember seeing something familiar where just the bomb explodes and not the ambulance.

I will say that there is more then one case of where ambulances had bombs or weapons or homicide bombers in them.

In the territories people have been shot for just getting too close to Israeli positions. very vey rarely….there is a whole set of procedures such as warning calls and then shots in the air before anyone with hostile intentions gets shot.


I think walking up to them with a big bomb under your shirt, will only get yourself killed. again very rarely for if a soldier knows that pali has a bomb, again there is all sorts of procedures that MOST follow that ensures he is disarmed rather then shot.

Btw this is ALSO done as well for the intelligence benefit of apprehending him, which these homicide bombers provide which cant be achieved if he is killed.

I think I already responded to this sequence once. Here it is again:

One of the things lying next to the body is definetly a "shaheed vest". The event probably went something like this: The guy was stopped for inspection, behaved suspiciously. They grabbed him. He went for the trigger, they had to shoot him. Then they brought in a robot to remove the bomb.
