Discuss how you would resolve this scenario but you can’t use nuclear weapons.

Scenario 1

You are the leader of a country, which resembles England in its influence upon the world. A country like Saudi Arabia that sells oil to most other countries in the world supported a terrorist attack in your country. You know this country has supported the attacks but they deny having any connections to it. How would you deal with this situation? You can carry out such things as assassinations and can sabotage and rig the elections but be aware that if agents are caught this country could hurt you politically. You could even send troops in but consider the political consequences.

Not much info but Ill give it a go...

Any trading power you have over them? suddenly make them have a tough time to get the things they want?

Is it a particular person within there government who is aiding the terrorists? a bit of :-*$ could help there.

All too little to go on IMO, but is ure bush it would be about what there doing in Iraq ;)

I would reply in kind but retain the moral high ground. By that I mean I would target any and all heads of state, politicians, governmental hierachy; police, military, intelligence/security services who were even remotely involved in the terrorist attack on my country.
Why?, because they would be wholly or partially responsible and therefore should bear the brunt of the punishment.

I would do so covertly and/or by using proxy forces and I would do the utmost to ensure the least amount of collateral damage was inflicted on the target countries populace as was humanly possible.
Why?, because the majority should not be held accountable for the actions of the minority.

The reason the retaliation would be carried out covertly and/or by proxy is because any overt action taken against a major oil producer would exact swift condemnation and political and probably economic censure from the rest of the world against the country that took the action. They of course would only be protecting their interests.

What do I mean by target?, well kill obviously. Chances are not all will be so at the same time all personal offshore accounts will be 'hacked' and looted where possible and any property belonging to the pers targeted will be destroyed, ie luxury yachts personal jets firebombed, mansions, holiday homes blown up, etc.

Basically those in power at all levels would be held personally accountable for their actions or lack of as the case may be.

"which resembles England in its influence upon the world"

Hence, a country which is nonexistent. I think you mean "United Kingdom".

England is a country it's just not a nation-state, you're right it should be the UK. Especially since there is there is no english army, so you'd be ****ed.

Invite the (Saudi) rulers to buy nice country houses and (London) apartments with a park view. Wine and dine them, give them a few medals and titles and let them do the dirty work. Just like today.

The text I highlighted above is all that matters. Whether it has a large stockpile of oil or soccer balls, it is not relevant.

What I would do: Launch an offensive operation similar to Enduring Freedom.

*shudders* personal hate of mine when people refer to the UK or Britain as England.

Turning to the scenario, if I had Firm, Solid, Unquestionable proof (i.e not like the Gulf War 2 "proof") that the country did support the terrorist attack, I would put whatever political/economic pressure I could on the country, and hopefully persuade my allies to do so also.

If the country admitted its sponsoring of the attack, unreservadly apologised for it and renounced its ties with terrorism, I would resume closer relations with the country, under certain conditions. These conditions would involve further co-operation between intelligence and security organisations in my country and theirs, and Visible and Overt steps by their government to combat terrorism.

If the country acknowledged their involvement, and went to the extreme of overtly supporting terrorism, to the extent that they posed a viable threat to my country, I would go through an international institution (i.e UN) and gain support for further actions against the country.

force them to eat uber greasy bangers and mash, drink McEwans, and watch the Naked Chef for 6 months straight - that will keep anyone away (from a UK like island state that is.) - ohh dear lord I hate THAT GUY!

Attack

Couldn't have said it better, atleast attack the people responsible once you get enough intel on who did it. Use special forces to destroy them and their camps while making it look like they fought themselves over control...or something.
