Multinational Division South Central Iraq

[Resevoir Hogs]

As a person who agreed with invading Iraq for almost two decades I feel particularily proud about our men and women warriors who have had to take on this task. Also I feel equally proud of those troops from other nations who are facing the same danger. These are pictures of the multinational division in Iraq and I've also included pictures of the British contingent.

For clarity's sake, I would note that you are mixing different units.

The Polish-led Multi-National Division (Central-South) has troops from Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Lithuania and Slovakia.

Multi-National Division (South-East), under UK command, consists of troops from the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Denmark, Romania, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Norway, Portugal and New Zealand.

Serving with the Americans are troops from Macedonia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Estonia, Australia, Georgia and Moldova. The South Korean brigade was originally to be the nucleus of another multinational division in the north, but the South Koreans are now looking to go to a sector in the south.

Actually, the acronym "SOG" was first used in vietnam by American covert forces operating along the Ho Ch Minh Trail and in Laos and Cambodia as well as all over Vietnam......SOG originally meant Studies and Obervation Group which was meant as somewhat of a cover for the unit. Only later did it change to what you said...........just thought you might like to know :)
