Looks like the bastard child of an M16 and a swedish AK5.

theres a thread special for indonesian forces...

this new one is tested in joint excercise in NSW last year, and its better than the v1 that often jammed..

Is it a licenced FNC or did they just borrow the looks like the mexicans did with the G36?

That was interesting info do you know what did cause the v1 to jamms ? I have never used the Indonesian rifle but I have been using the original FN FNC and the Swedish made Bofors AK5 and I have never hade problem with the rifle jamming

sweden and Indonesia donít use rifles made by Fabrique Nationale. and there is no rifle made by Fabrique Nationale on this page

its quite simple

Belgium: Fabrique Nationale FNC (the original weapon)
Indonesia: Pindad SS1
Sweden: Bofors AK5

The V1 often jammed simply because of poor quality in manufacturing, I spoke to some Indonesian soldiers a few months ago, and they all told me that they much preffered the M16 to the SS1, because the SS1 is heavier and ****e to jamming when dirty, I don't think that the FNCs made in Belgium are like that. the factory that makes them, Pindad, isn't exactly known for quality control. There's also a much shorter version called the R5 or R4 not sure which, that was made specifically for the raider batallions.

Interesting rifle butt they got there. Heard the Swedish AK5 is good though.

I actually kind of like it because its really odd looking. Id still take an M16 or G36k over it though.

well said..
poor quality..
its because lack of funding from the army...(corruption, nepotism, etc and its not a secret anymore)
but since the new president SBY is from military background, pindad is well funded more..(dont compare them to western countries of course)

Oh sweet God!!!! The ugliest "thing" I've seen in my whole life, looks like the abortion of what has resulted of bizarre threesome between the AK-47, the M-16 and the FNC. :petting:
