Meet Lockheed Martin's new Covert High-Speed Attack and Reconnaissance Craft or CHARC. This craft has a crew of two in a helicoptor-like cockpit mounted on a SWATH twin hull that can make 60 knots. CHARC can be configured with a number of different armaments and can carry eight SEALs. A prototype could be available by 2008 if the money keeps flowing into the Defense Department.

Well, it wouldnīt be the first time the US military spends billions on a project
that is scrapped anyway by some reason (Sgt. York, Comanche etc).

new Covert High-Speed Attack and Reconnaissance
what can this do that helicopters can't?
Helicopters can be used as reconnaissance, and carry weapons systems as well.

Actually, it looks like something German scientist high on crack cocaine could have comed up with in February 1945. :D
