Before the present US invasion of Iraq began, Iraqi TV was non-stop playing old Yugoslavian/Serbian movies of Partizan guerilla struggle against Nazi German occupiers.

Guess they picked up a few things.

During WWII, the Partisans had the majority of the population united behind them, they all wanted them to beat the nazis. Not so in Iraq, most of the Iraqi population wanted Saddam toppled. Then there's the difference in terrain, the Balkans are great for guerilla tactics, Iraq is not.
